Sqwürmish Brings Vast Grimm Sci-Fi Skirmishes To Kickstarter
February 18, 2025 by brennon
Creature Curation's Brian Colin is on Kickstarter right now with a new skirmish wargame game set in the Vast Grimm universe. Sqwürmish features a new set of rules that is compatible with Forbidden Psalm and by extension, MÖRK BORG.

Here's some of the background behind this particular universe...
"The Grimm Parasites have overtaken most of the universe -- würms released from their desolate planet to spread as a plague throughout humanity, twisting us into zombified mutants. But that was 663 years ago. Those still alive band together in Crews. Clawing toward another day. Scraping together credits in what time the ’verse has left."
Sqwürmish works as a stand-alone tabletop skirmish game where you will build your crews based on the miniatures by Sól Blair (Malevolent Minis) or kitbashed from whatever you have in your collection.
Inside the book, you'll find all of the core rules you need as well as threats for you to face. Thirteen connected scenarios are ready to play which can be played out as one-off games or as part of a long-form campaign.
Sqwürmish Rules // Creature Curation
The book can be used to play solo games or you can use it for cooperative and versus games if you prefer. That means between one and four players can dive in and have some fun. The rules have been presented in such a way that it's easy for you to pick up if you've not played a skirmish game before.

If you'd like to try out the game, a stripped-down version of Sqwürmish is available for you to download HERE. Forbidden Psalm is a great set of skirmish rules which is very easy to pick up and play so it's great to see that taken to the next level to suit the Vast Grimm universe.
The Miniatures
The miniatures by Sól have been designed to match the art and world design by Brian and you can either get them as digital files for you to print off as you see fit or physical miniatures. If you opt for the physical miniatures, they will be printed by Sól using 8K Photopolymer Resin.
Character Pack #1 // Sqwürmish
There are loads of different character and creature packs for you to choose from which could be used to build your different crews.

As you can see, there are some great options available as part of the campaign when it comes to miniatures. Plenty more of them are still to be finalised but even if you're not going to be playing Sqwürmish, you could end up finding some good miniatures here for other games.
Grimm Horde // Sqwürmish
The Neon Fight // Sqwürmish
As someone who has recently been enjoying quite a lot of Cyberpunk and Cyberpunk-adjacent media, this game seems like it has quite a lot of fun miniatures that would suit. As a fan of Forbidden Psalm and MÖRK BORG, this and Vast Grimm has a good base to build upon.
Stick Your Pledges In
When it comes to pledging for the game, there are plenty of options for you to choose from. You can go digital, physical and a mixture of the two with a variety of options for diving into miniature offerings as well as the rules.

Make sure to look over the Kickstarter for more information on Sqwürmish and the world built up around it by Creature Curation. There should be something for you in the mix here even if you're only tangentially playing games in this genre.

I really like the minis, some real cool designs in there. But I’m starting to loath these rulebooks. So flocking hard to read and skimming pages because you’re looking for something specific really gets tedious. I wish they would offer a “plain text” option. It’s a rulebook not a coffee table bock.
This is a good call. I will make a plain text version available to backers for free. I did a similar thing the Skeleton Crew version of Vast Grimm.
Thanks mate. As a non-native speaker that design really ads another layer of complexity. And I consider myself a fairly good read/speaker. Again: thanks!
