The Galaxy Expands For Star Wars Armada With the Wave II Expansions

And here I thought the game was fantastic right out of the box! Feast your gamer eyes on this, Star Wars fans- Wave II for Armada from Fantasy Flight Games. This second wave includes an Imperial Class Star Destroyer Expansion Pack, an MC3Oc Frigate Expansion pack, a Home One Expansion Pack, Rogues and Villains Expansion Pack and the Imperial Raider Expansion Pack! All 5 of these, including fan favorites, are heading this way in Wave II for Star Wars Armada.
Just think of the possibilities... snag your enemies with the Imperial Class Star Destroyer ' s tractor beam under the direction of Darth Vadar.
The MC30c Frigate offers excellent speed and the ability to fire multiple attack dice from the right and left hull zones- the trade off is light hull plating.
The Home One Expansion Pack brings Admiral Ackbar to the game and he brings with him 3 more command dials to offer extra advantages in strategy. His ship is very impressive with lots of fire power as well as defense.
Just in case you're afraid that you're favorites won't be represented in Armada, behold The Rogues and Villains Expansion Pack! All your favorites represented as either irregular squad level options or flown by an Ace, like Han Solo in the Millenium Falcon and even Boba Fet.
And just so the Empire doesn't feel under powered, Wave II offers an Imperial Raider for their services. This ship brings dual heavy laser cannons as well as command functions to the party and will be a powerful force for the Rebels to deal with.

This is the stuff where it gets my interest – also the rogues and villians are probably spoiling the next x-wing wave – which is very cool. Not picked up Armada yet but will trial and see, not to interested in the on release stuff – not proper star destroyers
The game is fantastic! I have to say, I have really enjoyed it each time I’ve played. The mechanics are really slick and the movement/firing tools make it really easy to pick up and play. And, it’s Star Wars! Enough said. 😉

Star wars was a nerdy love before I discovered gaming. These look great, but I can’t help but wonder what a 40K themed version of this would be like. It think at this scale the ships would looks incredible.
I wonder if FFG would be able to produce one with its licence?
I don’t believe they would due to it being a tabletop game and not a board game. Also @warzan was hinting he thinks new Star Wars film may end agreement with FFG and GW, as FFG may put out a star wars miniatures game, on a weekend a few months back

I’m not even into star wars and I think those miniatures look really really good – the paintjobs also look solid. Will probably end up buying some of this for SW buddies of mine.

Having played the crap out of the core set I got another core set 🙂 and the game just gets better. The more ships you put on the table the better it seems to play. My group is up to three core sets and are doing the best we can to hold on for wave one before getting any more. Got the core set, will expand the Hell out of it and liking what I see coming 🙂
I preordered and paid for my core set at a major internet shop in England in AUGUST and they still have not sent me mine, they have to “wait for the next batch”. What is the point of preordering if they cannot or will not fulfil them at the earliest opportunity?
I am not preordering from them again, thats for sure.
Guess I’ll be emptying my wallet again into FFG’s coffers.
