Get A Look At Rebels Of Different Sorts For Star Wars: Destiny!

June 13, 2018 by brennon

Fantasy Flight Games has been giving us another look at some of the cards that are coming your way as part of Way Of The Force, the new expansion for Star Wars: Destiny. The newest set of reveals look towards a familiar Rebel, Ezra Bridger.

Ezra Bridger - Star Wars Destiny

Ezra has been seen before in Destiny, albeit with the guise of a Yellow Scoundrel. Here he has fully given himself over to The FOrce and gets himself a rather awesome blue dice. He might not be the toughest cookie but he is reliable and gives you access to some very good card draw with his power action.

He also has access to his reliable lightsabre as well, something that you don't normally get to see from these weapons. The options on the dice give him plenty of scope to match the dice of his companions AND he has a neat special which could rob them of their hard-earned credits!

Whilst not focused on Ezra in particular, we also saw the support, Honed Skills. This is going to be an invaluable tool not only blue characters of both sides but because it has no restrictions on it, you can use this for ANY of your heroes of villains.

The possibilities with this are very interesting and open up a gambit of options for your Jedi, Sith, Scoundrels, Soldiers and Bounty Hunters. So many guns and lightsabres!

Harsh Governance

As well as Ezra we also got a look at one of the red characters for the villains in Star Wars: Destiny. Here we have Arihnda Pryce who lends herself towards control of the tabletop rather than outright damage.

Arihnda Pryce - Star Wars Destiny

While she has the ability to generate resources and discard cards from an opponents hand her real power comes in her low cost and that special action (of which she has two sides showing). This could be used in great concert with a range of characters but most importantly, some of the big supports. Maybe something like Planetary Bombardment?

Planetary Bombardment - Star Wars Destiny

This is a rather insane card that you're going to have to work to get into play but if you can get this rolling then you are in for some death-dealing. The ambush effect is painful enough, and a dice which is covered in damage, but that inherent additional indirect damage with the card makes it brutal.

It will most likely not see play unless a deck is focused around it, but if you get this out then you're going to be laughing all the way to the galactic bank!

Dashing Rogues

No, not Han Solo. We're looking to Rogue One for this particular Scoundrel and Cassian Andor.

Cassian Andor - Star Wars Destiny

Cassian Andor and the following cards were spoiled by Rebel Spy and show off a rather awesome character, perfect for milling through your opponent's deck! He has some great options on his dice, and when twinned with events like Clandestine Operations, you've got some real scope for making a deck which is focused around utterly destroying your opponent's deck.

Clandestine Operations - Star Wars Destiny

You can run him as a one dice character alongside Jyn Erso from Spirit of Rebellion for a rather tough pairing. You are stuck with just three dice, but with the amount of mitigation and such you could throw at your opponent, you should be able to keep them alive.

More options are also popping up to support Cassian's infiltration attempts. Stealthy here not only gives you good damage output and shields to keep your characters alive but that special builds on the mill potential of yellow in Star Wars: Destiny.

It's going to be awesome delving into more of these cards from the new boxed set and hopefully, we won't have too long to wait until they are out there in the wild!

I had a few moments where I thought that I was going to be falling out of love with Star Wars: Destiny, but these new cards and interesting ways to play are drawing me back in.

What do you think?
