The Star Wars news continues from Fantasy Flight Games this weekend as they've released information about some new expansion material for Star Wars: Imperial Assault. Not only will you be Returning To Hoth but finding new Allies and Villains for your games too, all with a Hoth theme.

Return To Hoth

First up let's take a look at the contents and background behind this new expansion where you'll have additional adventures back on the ice planet of Hoth...

Return To Hoth

"Return to Hoth is a new expansion for Imperial Assault, offering new content for both campaigns and skirmishes. A brand-new full-length campaign invites you to escape the aftermath of the Battle of Hoth and protect a colony of Rebel refugees from the depredations of the Empire.

Meanwhile, four new skirmish missions bring your forces to the icy expanses of Hoth and new rules for four-player skirmish games invite you to experience massive, multi-fronted skirmishes with up to three opponents!"

Return To Hoth (Miniatures)

The miniatures in particular are looking very nice for this expansion and it's great to see some interesting models like that awesome Repulsor tank. Oh and if you wondered what the droid is, it's a HK assassin droid! Anyone who has played Knights of the Old Republic will probably smile right about now.

Friend & Foe

In addition to this expansion, much like with previous ones, the Allies & Villains packs below expand on the cardboard tokens that you'll see in the expansion. You can pick up these models for Leia, the Echo Base Snow Troopers and more later down the line if you so wish.

Leia Organa

Dengar

Echo Base Trooper

General Sorin

Some very neat models and for the collector out there these are more or less a must I think. We've seen a lot of excitement around Imperial Assault and it's easy to see why it's become one of the biggest releases from Fantasy Flight Games in recent years. It even beat X-Wing.

I guess people really, really like Star Wars.

What do you think folks?
