New US Stripes Releases Arrive For Battlefront’s Team Yankee

December 11, 2017 by brennon

A range of new releases have popped up this week from Battlefront for the world of Team Yankee and we explore the war that never was again. This all comes on the heels of the new Stripes book which introduces additional elements and rules for your US forces in World War III.

Stripes - US Forces in World War III

Inside the book, you'll find it covers the US forces in Germany in August 1985, more specifically the 1st Armored Division, 82nd Airborne Division, and the 2nd Marine Division. If you're a big fan of the US in your games of Team Yankee then this is the natural next step for you to consider.

Additional Armour

When it comes to new model sets you'll now be able to get your hands on sets like the Abrams Tank Platoon which put paid to pretty much everything you come up against.

With a nice look and style to them, the Abrams is a tank that is cemented in popular culture and one of the most defining images of the tank I would reckon on the tabletop.

Firing in from the edges of your battlefields you'll also find the M48 Chaparral SAM Platoon quite useful one would assume.

SAM Platoons once again feel synonymous with the period and the 80's. A lot of people will remember seeing these iconic vehicles on the TV. It's good to see that Battlefront is adding a lot of these vehicles into the mix now, in plastic, of course, to help build up the range.

Another support vehicle comes in the shape of the M247 Sergeant York AA Platoon. Watching the skies is going to be important with the likes of the HIND hovering around for the Soviets.

With the additional rules and options available in Stripes the new models will no doubt find a home amongst your collection. While I do like the look of the Abrams tanks I think the SAM Platoon is actually my favourite of these new releases simply because of the imagery they conjure up for the battlefields of World War III.

Air Support

You will also find that you'll get some air support too with a new AV-8 Harrier Attack Flight thrown into the mix.

AV-8 Harrier Attack Flight

Known as the jump jet, these planes could take off vertically making them a key resource to have in play as they could quickly mobilise and take off some pretty much anywhere too. They also look really cool, don't they?

What do you think of the new Stripes releases?
