Gamemat.Eu has released a small set of their Gothic Ruins terrain, more suitable for those battles fighting out across a smaller tablespace.

These pre-painted, resin terrain pieces are usable straight out of the box and create a very atmospheric setting for wargames.

We have made good use of this terrain in the past, and it fits well with most settings, ranging from the gothic horror to the far-future.

One thing I particularly like about this set is the inclusion of window inserts for some of the ruins.

These are great as they let you turn the pieces into line-of-sight blocking terrain and give you a chance to test your painting skills for some stained glass designs.

Maybe it's because I've been re-reading Hellboy a bit lately, but I see this and I imagine a scenario based on the opening of the first movie. Would be pretty cool to stage an assault on a Nazi occult ritual among these ancient ruins.

Let us know your thoughts on these pieces in the comments below.
