As you'll have no doubt noticed, Mantic Games are back on Kickstarter with Terrain Crate 2 which offers up a new range of different terrain options in pre-coloured plastic for those looking to develop living battlefields.

Their campaign has just over a week left and we wanted to go back in and highlight the different sets you can snap up for your tabletops. Each 'pack' has been designed to fit a specific theme, using a range of their new pieces to tell a bit of a story.

For example, this first set for Bleakwood Hall provides you with the terrain options for a grand manor house which is very clearly haunted.

As well as including lots of pieces for interiors the set also develops exterior locations too with some absolutely awesome looking trees. Immediately I was thinking about the use of this set in turning a Cthulhu-esque adventure into something a bit special.

If a haunted mansion isn't your thing then how about a dark and foreboding town? Campbell Heights introduces you to the setting of many a different horror video game.

The thing that's great about this is that whilst it would be perfect for something like The Walking Dead I really like the idea of using these in role-playing games to help add to the interactive element of tabletop storytelling.

I love describing a room to players at a tabletop but then having the little props for them to look at and play around with can elevate things too. Imagine combining these pieces with some of the terrain from 4Ground for example?

Last but not least we're heading outdoors again to Bellevue Square which introduces a potential institute for your players to explore or a historical village to battle through.

You could have this be the setting for a peaceful British village only for the quiet to be shattered by forgotten inmates suddenly running amok. All of these new sets really get the brain thinking about ideas for pulp-based gaming on the tabletop.

The team has also been working with Warlord Games on creating a set for those who want to play games like Bolt Action. Here we have the Morneville Ruins...

This is perfect for blasted towns and cities which have been ruined by the war rumbling through Europe.

So, if you want more of a Historical experience with the Terrain Crate range that now exists.

Will you be potentially snapping this lot up?

Stretch Goals

It wouldn't be a Mantic Kickstarter without some Stretch Goals and the team have unlocked quite a few.

These have been added to a number of different pledges so if you're looking to snap up some additional terrain features you have the option there too.

Terrain Crate seems to have gone down very well with a lot of people, offering up a way to adorn dungeons and tabletops very easily. It will be neat to see some of these painted up eventually!

Which set would you pick?
