Forge World has been reinforcing the Dark Angels back in the annals of history during The Horus Heresy. A new character enters the mix alongside a hulking warrior fighting on despite grievous wounds.

Dark Angel Legion Praetor - Forge World

The first model is the new Dark Angel Legion Praetor who I think looks epic with his helmet off. Whilst Gerry might be convinced that they are all heretics I think the model here is darn awesome and very valiant to boot! The thing I like about it, in particular, is that it really pushes that Sci-Fantasy element that is embedded in everything Warhammer 40,000.

If it wasn't for the glowing power sword and the backpack you'd think this fellow was a Knight from a different grimdark world. More of this would be great to see brought to the fore in regular Warhammer 40,000 I reckon.

Serving In Death

Whilst most likely decimated and ruined by some terrible injury, the Leviathan Pattern Siege Dreadnought is another good addition to the Dark Angel forces during this turbulent time.

Leviathan Pattern Dreadnought - Games Workshop

You can arm this Dreadnought with a range of options including a choice of two volkite calivers or two heavy flamers mounted to its front, as well as an optional phosphex grenade launcher. You can also mix and match things if you want to go hunting through the Forge World catalogue for more weapon options.

I do like the Dark Angels as a force, especially when we get to see more of this 'knightly order' aesthetic in play. It will be cool to see what Games Workshop does with the Dark Angels in the near future as the Primaris become a larger part of their army.

What do you think of these new offerings?
