Games Workshop Update Captain Centos For Warhammer 40K
June 9, 2025 by brennon
Games Workshop revealed another celebration miniature coming out for Warhammer 40,000, which coincides with the opening of even more Warhammer stores around the world. Captain Centos is back with a new look that matches the current edition of Warhammer 40,000.
Captain Centos // Warhammer 40,000
This new version of Captain Centos comes in updated armour but in a classic pose that will be familiar to a whole host of people. He comes armed with a trusty Bolter and a Power Fist for good measure when you need to get up close and personal. He also comes with a classic banner pole, which is a nice callback to previous Space Marines from years gone by.

So, who is Captain Centos? Captain Centos is a character that has appeared in Warhammer 40,000 across numerous editions of the game. He was first released back in 1991 and then was remade and re-released in 2016, as you can see in the image below.

The pose of the miniature has been updated a little bit over the years but it's essentially the same. He now has a heroic rock to stand on, which certainly ties him into the newer editions of the game. As Games Workshop mentioned, you could always approach painting him in the classic style with a Goblin Green base at the ready.
There is no word when he will be available but Games Workshop has said that the miniature will come out alongside a range of other celebratory merch.
Could you be tempted to scoop up Captain Centos?

They’re half-man, half LINUX mythical beings
I thought those are the Adeptus Mechanical Keyboardus?
They were never going to pay the full Red Hat licence.
In the grim darkness of the future there is only Windows…
At least it’s not (cr)Apple….
I have his 90s predecessor, one of the better figures I ever painted. Very bright red, a freehanded banner, and a goblin green base.
If I could get him online I would for the nostalgia is strong, but walking 30 mins to a GW store on the off chance they have one, nah I’m good.
