Games Workshop held their yearly Skulls "Festival of Video Games" this week and there were some big reveals for fans of classic Warhammer 40,000 video games and classic PC strategy affairs as well as a few previews of what's new.

Dark Heresy // Warhammer 40,000

One of the biggest reveals was that we are going to be getting a new roleplaying game from Owlcat, who previously made the title, Rogue Trader. In Dark Heresy, taking cues from the tabletop roleplaying game, you'll build a party in this classic story-driven cRPG and uncover conspiracies and heretics threatening the Imperium.

Another of the new game reveals was for the follow-up to the successful retro-inspired shooter, Boltgun. Boltgun II is going to feature Malum Caedo (once again voiced by Rahul Kohli) battling against the forces of Chaos once again.

Get back into a bit of ripping and tearing to some heavy metal music, all the time spouting your support for the Emperor of mankind.

If you're looking to dive back into some older games, two remasters are on the way for a couple of classics. For example, Dawn of War is back with a Definitive Edition that includes upgrades to the graphics as well as all of the content from the various expansions.

This is going to go down well for a lot of folks, I imagine, especially those who want to relive the older stories with a fresh coat of paint. Some people were upset that we didn't get a new entry in the Dawn of War series but maybe that will come down the pipeline once we've seen the uptake on this Definitive Edition.

Last but not least, at least for what caught my eye, we have the Master Crafted Edition of Space Marine which reintroduces the original story of Captain Titus and his Ultramarines battling both the Orks and Chaos.

Go back and see where it all began for Titus with the Master Crafted Edition, which again, features updated graphics and controls which make the game a slicker and more modern experience.

If you'd like to see what else was announced during the Skulls preview, you can find out more HERE. Watch more trailers and see what else you'll be able to get stuck into as a Warhammer fan. It was a bit of a shame that we didn't get more Warhammer Age of Sigmar game announcements but they haven't really landed in the past unfortunately.

Did any of the reveals interest you?
