Games Workshop are going to be taking pre-orders this weekend for a new Kill Team set for the Grimdark Sci-Fi world of Warhammer 40,000. Typhon sees the Adeptus Mechanicus battling against the Tyranids in the depths of Hive City Fissilicus.

Kill Team Typhon - Warhammer 40K

Kill Team: Typhon // Warhammer 40,000

The shockwaves shaking the foundations of the great Hive City come from the Great Gun of Volkus, which is continuing to defend the planet from alien invasion. Xenos growths and more have started to appear deep beneath the surface, and so the Adeptus Mechanicus has sent Tech Priests and a full Battleclade to find out what is happening beneath the surface.

Little did they know that a Tyranid threat had awoken, and the Adeptus Mechanicus are going to be battling against fearsome Ravener variants, each laying the groundwork for some Tyranid fleet hiding somewhere in the darkness of space.

Battleclades - Warhammer 40K Kill Team

Battleclades // Warhammer 40,000: Kill Team

Leading the way is the Battleclade which is a group of eight Servitors which have been outfitted for combat and exploration. They are led by a Servitor Underseer who is in turn under the command of the Technoarcheologist. They should be able to hold their own against the Tyranids, if they live long enough to adapt and upgrade to combat the threat.

Going up against them, there is a group of four specialised Raveners who are led by a Ravener Prime and are just as deadly as you might expect from these sneaky, slithering killers.

The set also comes with ten Hormagaunts and a Ripper Swarm, plus fifteen Tyranid Infestation terrain pieces. This allows you to play out thematic missions in the Kill Team versus format plus options for playing out six new missions in the Joint Ops format, where you can work cooperatively against fiendish foes.

Returning Kill Teams

As well as the new Typhon set, you can also pre-order two Kill Teams that were part of a previous set. They are now separate and come alongside their set of Datacards for use in the Sci-Fi skirmish game.

Kill Team Sanctifiers - Warhammer 40K

Kill Team: Sanctifiers // Warhammer 40,000

You could find solace in the Imperial Faith if you like, and obtain the Sanctifiers. This set comes with the Sanctifier Confessor, Sanctifier Cherub and nine other Sanctifiers, which can be built as a mixture of operatives like the Conflagrator, Death Cult Assassin, Miraculist, Preacher and Missionary amongst others.

Seeking divine glory of another kind, you also have the Goremongers, who have dedicated themselves to Khorne.

Kill Team Goremongers - Warhammer 40K

Kill Team: Goremongers // Warhammer 40,000

Whilst most Khorne Cultists can't be trusted to undertake even the most simple of acts of subterfuge and infiltration, the Goremongers stand out amongst the pack. They seek to emulate the loping gait of the Bloodletters with their cybernetically "enhanced" legs, which also give them the extra boost they need to leap into combat.

The set is led by the Goremonger Blood Herald, who has seven followers who can be built as Goremonger Aspirants or the Impaler, Bloodtaker, Skullclaimer and Inciter.

All of these Kill Team options will be available this weekend for Warhammer 40,000 fans, giving you some new ways to play the game, plus additional conversion/kitbashing options for your larger armies.
