Darrell takes a look at some more of the fantastic WWII models for Flames of War. This time he examines the Brummbär Assault Tank Platoon, also known as the Sturmpanzer IV.
Very nice models.
I’ve always liked the Mark IV and all of the various designs based on its chassis, and the sturmpanzer IV is no exception. I do prefer the low profile of the jagdpanzer IV, but I’d be happy to have either in my garage.
Haha, even if you can’t out run it, infantry probably shouldn’t turn and fight unless they have some anti tank weaponry. More like spread out and hope the driver decides to chase the other guy.
Interesting that they used the Allies nickname for the tank, rather than its actual name: the Sturmpanzer IV, or the German nickname: the Stupa.
Don’t quite know what it is about this tank that makes it more appealing to ‘actually be in’ than other tanks?
Looks like a Vindicator Mk I to me 😛
A platoon of these Sturmpanzers would do well in supporting armoured panzerpioneers in late war.
