Unboxing: Frostgrave Knights From North Star Military Figures #FrostgraveWeekOTT
December 27, 2020 by avernos
Today we're wrapping up Frostgrave Week with by unboxing the excellent Frostgrave Knights box set for second edition from North Star Military Figures.
Frostgrave Books - Frostgrave Miniatures - Frostgrave Terrain
Gerry is back with more Frostgrave for you all. This time he's unboxing a set of knights to join your warband. The sculpts are clean, highly detailed and the box provides a large variety of options for assembling some meat sacks in armour.
The set is hard plastic and allows you to build 10 different specialist soldiers, including Knights, Templars, Marksmen and Captains.
We also think this is great set for building up an Oathmark force too.
Will you be adding these to your Frostgrave force?

- Frostgrave 2nd Edition Rulebook + The Red King Expansion + Soldiers I Plastic Box (OnTableTop)
Are you tempted by the cool semi-cooperative nature of The Red King expansion?
Really liked the more realistic looking heads. Definitely adding the kit to my growing frostgrave collection.
These would be great for a variety of games!
Nice kit. But I hope they will also do a female version of them in the future.
My only “niggle” with these (and the last few box sets in fact) is that they’ve lost their cold weather vibe (as you see with the first two Soldiers box sets). The one thing that set them apart from “generic” fantasy minis was all the layers of clothing and firs. The new Demon box set doesn’t even have any fir added to them (they would have looked excellent with fir cloaks added to them over all that plate armour).
Still the knights box set is good for kitbashing the specialists you’ll need (not only knights, but treasure hunters and marksmen (all of which have “heavy” armour)), and possibly for doing some officer/hero minis for your Oathmark human armies as well.
Great kit bash potential with all the different bits, not only with these sprue but others in the same range.
They look nicely detailed and I love the range of head sculpts included.
This is a great box! Great leftover bits afterwords for other projects… I have yet to assemble mine, but after seeing yours, i think i’ll do a few this week, i do have a few gaps to fill in my warband anyway!
Thanks for the vid!
It’d be nice to get to combine with their other sets.
These look fantastic… I just wish there were a few uniform shields. 3 similar, with 2 unique would be helpful.
I gotta get these!
some excellent pieces for kit bashing
I still cant get over how versatile these sets are when you think you can merge them with any of the other plastic sets they do, including oathmark!
Great looking models, pity there’s not a mixed box with a mix of the wizard, soldier, knight and possibly barbarian sprues availiable
That is a lovely kit but not enough shields and I am not liking the lack of woodgrain either.
I’m not that impressed with this set if I’m honest. Previous sets were better…it’s just a bit meh
These look real good, thanks for the unboxing!
I can’t emphasise enough how much I love these North Star boxed minis. I had great fun with the original soldiers set; have made WH40k civilians (and many cultists) with the cultist set and the backbone of my Rangers of Shadow Deep party (WIP – and I just fancied making a new one for Rangers) is a sprue of female soldiers.
I already have metal minis for the more armoutred Frostgrave soldiers but I just know they’ll be good for something, somewhen.
A spue designed by different people then I assume? One guy liked wood grain and another didn’t?
Watching this week has really got me fired up for making a warband. Definitely going to get some of theses sets and kit bash the hell out of them!
Interesting, not really something I’d use personally.
You could even share this box set with a few other players if needed, as the knights are more elite (and actually cost the wizard to hire) you wouldn’t have a lot in each warband normally.
cant complain regards the options on these sprues
Think you’ve missed a trick here. If this had been uploaded on the 24th, it could have been the “knight before Christmas”.
it was a nice frostgrave week, really love it!
another good box set from this series, best of this box is the plucked chicken.
things to distract your opponent is always welcome and usually cheerful during a game.
all have a good end year and especially a safe one and hope we can play together again in 2021.

Knights box is a great one for warbands. I’ve been repurposing Burrows & Badgers for Frostgrave but would dive into this box to get some proper minis
