Four New Ships For Fantasy Flight’s X-Wing

Stu pointed it out on Saturday's Weekender and here they are. Check out the four new ships for X-Wing by Fantasy Flight Games that include the TIE Bomber and B-Wing...
Above you can see the models and some of the statistic cards for the various ships too. All the artwork and the pre-painted work on the miniatures themselves is looking great, as you'd expect from Fantasy Flight.
While all the more 'iconic' ships have been released there are still plenty of options here for lovers of the franchise. In particular it's cool to see the Lambda-Class Shuttle finally coming to the tabletop.

Yep really looking forward to getting some of those Wave 3 releases.

I have been waiting for B-Wing most and FFG dosen’t disapoint with that.

Also, glad to see some real release news from FFG about this. After that cardboard star field thing I was starting to worry we were already slipping into the sunset phase of this product line.

Am I getting it Mixed up? Wasn’t the Mouldy Crow supposed to be ‘bigger’ than a Lambda shuttle?
I wonder how many people will mod their B-wings to fly in different orientations.
Some of the released pictures show that it has an ‘L’ shape attachment so the base goes in the back not bottom. People are speculationg that this means you can turn it to whatever angle you want.
This and a rotating cockpit would put the B-wing in every list I play, including Imperial ones.

no doubt i’ll get one of each, slowly running out of room in my starter boxes to keep my ships in 🙂
I bought foam not long ago… I guess a second case wasn’t as far off as I expected. So what will bother me more? A 3/4 empty case or a handful of ships not in a case?

Big question though is “do the wings on the Lambda fold up and down or not?”

cool one ship from the expanded universe but this system could work for battle star galactica or/and Babylon 5 star fighters too, one can only wish:)
Seeing what a good job FFG are doing with these ships only makes me sad that they aren’t expanding Wizards old Starship Battles line 🙁
one of the reasons these ships are so good is because they are to scale with each other, Wizards didn’t do that with starship battles however FFG could always look to the starship battles line for inspiration on new ships.
For sure I would have liked Starship Battles to scale but then fielding fighters and cruisers on the same table wouldn’t have been possible. I suppose bendy X-Wings were a small price to pay for Star Destroyers 🙂

Still dream of the day we get to have battles using AT-ATs……AT-STs, snow speeders, speeder bikes etc etc
Have a feeling with the x-wing line doing well, maybe they’ll release a cruiser version, I for one would have a fleet of star destroyers, although the scale they’d have to use for the star fighters maybe a problem
