I’ve just finished these for work. The brief was quick high tabletop on the troops, but to go fancy on the characters, so I did.

Stormtroopers were sprayed white, had the details picked out and then a simple wash and highlight.

Rebel troopers were vallejo middlestone as the base, then German camouflage pale brown, green ink and deck tan as the camouflage.

Vader and Luke were both lots of different blacks, blues and greys!

The Rogue One TIE striker is a 1/72 Bandai kit. Too small for Legion but it looks sexy on the shelf!

Basic is simple black at the clients request.

A nice simple looking paint scheme that really looks great . the old adage , less is more , really applies to these figures , And great basing on the tie , have to rethink my bases now

Thanks chaps, I’m actually trying to do simple on a lot of my own troop stuff now, my AoS undead I’m working on with simple stuff like block colours and dry brushing, and it’s still looking great, and I’m getting stuff done too!

@olliep I just used GW nuln oil gloss, but I put it on over a gloss base, and also made sure it wasn’t pooling too. I’m sure you could use the matt version too, but the gloss has better drying properties I think.

It’s great stuff, very different to the matt version, too in the way it performs. I’d recommend the agrax gloss too.
