I wish I’d come over for this boot camp

silverfox8

Agree!

I find that 8 man teams is a kind of sweet spot for me. Theres enough fodder to protect the LMG while not being to bully or expensive.

oriskany

Tactically / historically the most realistic as well. Some armies add a third fireteam to the squad for a really big force in real life, USMC is an example that usually as three fireteams of four + a squadleader = 13 men. This is an abnormally large squad, though.

osbad

Sound stuff. I’m all ears!

Oh John, how could you forget to mention that we have to not to forget to comment on Tabletop dot com to win awesome prices 😉

sneakyrabbit

seeing this makes me really wish I could be there

rot6

no mortars for the germans? can you atleast snipe the enemy leader with the antitankgun?

lawnor

Good stuff

uptrebor

Again sound advice

skodamarine

That extra dice make German machine guns so good in bolt action.

For all “level playing field” is an excruciating pun, it’s very true. TBH this period of the war is much more interesting than mine. Crap tanks on both sides, rather than “rock-paper-scissors” around the German big cats.

oriskany

Many many MANY WW2 gamers prefer early and mid-war WW2 just for this very reason.

collins

All the machine guns, all the time, good advice

goban

I am always afraid of fielding small teams esp. when I have the opportunity to assault.

dukeexeter

I always like to take full strength squads, but I wish I could give them seperate orders like the riflemen maneuver while the LMG fires

jemmy

5 men squads is really quite risky, because as a single unit it can more easily be taken out. However, with more smaller units you have more dice in the bag and you are more likely to grab the initiative and dictate what´s going on on the battlefield.

silverfox8

Great Tips!!!

Nice to watch these alongside @oriskany‘s talks on tactics

oriskany

I’ve always feet this is why and I work well together as a team, without stepping on each other’s toes. Yes, we’re both “historical experts,” but whereas I focus on larger tactical or operational history, OOBs, doctrines, and campaigns, he drills down into the technical and tactical details of the individual tanks and weapons.

That, and he’s forgotten more about hobby that I’ll ever know. 😀

khy0te

Never apologize for a pun! Own your puns proudly!

fireblarney

Not sure if I’d be game to run 5 man squads in BA, I get the pros just not sure if they line up against the cons for me.

woldenspoons

Hmm filler fodder. It’s the future.

aurorainbag

More great tips for someone like me, who hasn’t a clue 🙂 Thank you

falerox

Interesting how this discussion matches the previous “scorpions” episode.

daverouge1

rbwgames
