Besides Anne McCaffrey’s Pern saga, a bunch of Dragonlance novels, Christopher Rowley’s Basil Broketail, quite openly plagiaristic Eragon and children’s books like How to train your Dragon, do you have any suggestions for books about Dragons, featuring Dragons, even with Dragons as protagonists ?

I’m also wondering if there are any Dragons in non-fantasy settings, sort of like Jurassic Park with wings……

There’s a film from the 80’s called Dragonslayer that has become something of a cult classic and there is a novelisation by Wayland Drew that’s very good… you’ll probably only find it used though… unless you like ebooks.

Presumably you are rejecting most of the D&D fodder.

There’s another book by this guy called Tolkien… something about a hobbit.

Terry Pratchett did a few dragon related books if you’re looking for humour.

I’m sure there are more, but off hand they don’t come to mind.

Try “The Great Zoo of China” by Matthew Reilly

Matthew’s books are always action packed, very cinematic page turns with twists & turns. Also highly recommend the Jack West Jnr and Scarecrow series.

Robert Jordan’s Wheel of Time centres around the “Dragon Reborn” who is a human being prophesied to save the world ratheran actual dragon but they do get cool magics.

Does that get in on any technicalities? =P
