Washed UP, 1490 Doom diorama board #TerrainFest2025
Filth
Layers of dirt built up over most surfaces and blended in with dark washes.
I’m not sure what the issue was, but I couldn’t generate enough charge from the flock box to get static grass to stick up, so I resorted to using tufts.

That’s looking rather nice.
the finished pics of your Maze look fantastic! I look forward to taking some glamor shots next week. I’m stalling on the resin pour now, I haven’t done one before, worried something wont be fully cured and will react poorly, plus I think its a bit damp and cold for it.
Thanks, this is also an amazing build. Looking forward to the glamour shots.
Having done a few resin pours, I would say check and double-check that there are no areas from which it can leak. Then check it again.
Resin will get really hot as it sets. If you are concerned, do it in several thinner layers rather than one big pour. Just make sure each level is fully cured before doing the next.
Leave it to set longer than it says on the packaging. Try to keep dust off it as best you can.
If doing the pour in layers, add less colour to the upper layers to increase the feeling of depth.
If in doubt, hold off the pour until you are ready. Honestly, with what you have done so far, it easily stands up as a fantastic build on its own merit as it is.
Thank you for the advice. I want to imply that the tide is out, so I don’t need a very deep pour. This reminded me that I have plenty of UV resin, which I’m much more familiar with; leaks won’t be much of an issue, and it sets almost instantly. I’m definitely going to build it up with shallow, saturated lower layers from the outer edge of the board to create depth. Great suggestion!
CFS water resin is good and cheap! (ish). They used to do a really good 50:50 kit of resin to hardner which was super easy but looks to have been discontinued now. https://www.cfsnet.co.uk/pl-14863/water-clear-casting-resin/
if you’re going to do a low tide, dont forget to give a damp effect to the sand still in the wave line (sepia wash will work) and a load of debris at the high tide line.
Thanks for the sugestions, my high tidemark is vertical on the cliff faces, I imagine dense vegitation would grow from this point but debris would get stuck at the bottom of the cliff. I used seawead to try to depict the line but will have play with some sepia wash to help reinforce this.
