About the Project

After painting a halfling bust last year I seem to have gotten hooked and found myself looking for my next fix. I have discovered a couple that make me want to paint them and decided I could probably get a project blog started as I doubt I will stop with these two. I know my own habits.

I started with a base of black primer followed by grey held at a 45 degree angle. I finished with white for the highlight area.

As the “About” section says, I have been acquiring new busts and larger scale figures since I painted a bust for the first time a year ago.  The first one I decided to work on is Commander Sam Vimes, Old Stoneface, of the Ankh-Morpork city watch and my favorite character of the Discworld series by the late Terry Pratchett.  I do so very miss having a new book to read each year but he wrote so very many that I can take some solace in the quantity to reread.  I can also paint miniatures of his characters and this one by MicroArts is a fun representation of the man about to light his cigar with a swamp dragon.
