My pocket book just melted.
and a thousand wallets screamed as if something terrible had happened … 😉
You cunning, cunning barstewards.
I’ll get my wallet.. 😀
wooo you don’t know how awesome this is for me, I actually did back originally but never noticed my card on Kickstarter had expired and by the time I got around to resolve it I was too late. This means I can jump back in!
Nooo!!! Can somebody lend me all the moneyz?
Lucky people, jump in, this is brilliant. I will be looking at picking this up on general release when I can afford to. 4Ground seem to know how to wet peoples appitites and then deliver.
Holy frickin’ cows! Is that why the BoW site was down a few minutes ago? The servers can’t handle this announcement!
My debit card is crying under the sofa, and won’t come out.
Are there any better descriptions of what each item is in backer kit? Like, what is in The Portsoken District, or what is in The World Of Fabled Realms? What do I need to choose if I want the game and some of the factions? Where can I go to find out more info on each item?
The kickstarter page ought to have them.
From what I remember it’s a number of buildings.

The Portsoken District is 3 ‘damaged houses’, 1 ‘damaged dwelling’ and a few trees.

btw : it looks like the sets are cheaper compared to ordering them from their website …
Hi beetle,
We will try and get some up from the kickstarter page, it should all be done by Tuesday as we still have to get back into the UK.
Thank you limburger for providing the link :).
Regards,
Cad
Great! I really want to know the name of the Teuden League art is. I would love to get a copy of that for the game room. Is it the Talhoffen Salute?
I hope this stays open for a week. This Friday is my pay day.
Oh cruel and fickle fate.
Um…..I have to talk to the Mrs…..
it may be better to ask for forgiveness 😉
There is no shame in begging….. if the end result is minis…
It’s for the cause, after all.
…for two causes, actually. One for the fun at home. And one, well, for miniatures gaming. 😀
Haha. Did not expect this.
doh!
Uh oh. I’m in trouble now.
need some help here has i am probably missing something used the link kindly provided by cad jeal which took to my pledge manager however does not appear to be any way to add to my original pledge ?
Hi darren2961,
We are going to look into this. We will be able to let you know what is happening.
Regards,
Cad
thanks cad really determined not to give in to my must buy miniatures syndrome and buy some of your beautiful terrain pieces and maybe some henchmen and a terror or 2
oh dear just realised i am weakening already:-)
NOOOOOOooooooo! I mean YES! Oh i don’t know! Maybe?
Need to catch up on day 2 and 3 and i’ll decide then
I wish I could jump in on this …..
I’ve just jumped in and bagged one of the Druggoi coven Terrors.
Had to get one after seeing them used in vids this weekend.
Can’t wait to unleash this beast on my Mordanburg table.
Will spread the message 🙂
must resist going to kickstarter…
so I can either buy a starter set with one fraction for 40 ore with two for 140? And why cost some extra cards 40 ??? why is there an option to choose between resin and plastic? Are the custom dice what we see on the picture or are we getting normal d6??? and why do most pictures still have the concept art and not the miniatur ???
not sure about the pricing because I’ve not read what is going into them, and I don’t work for 4Ground. As to your other questions it comes down to the fact that this is the pledgemanager reopened from the Kickstarter, so the options and graphics are are the ones from the KS. It’s not possible to amend it because once the campaign closes you can’t change anything.
With that in mind;
during the KS the idea was to go for PVC and allow people to upgrade to resin, this is not an option but is still stuck in the pledge manager.
The custom polyhedral dice where for the alpha rules, they are now going to be d6 based on the current rules
They have concept art because they had no miniatures to show off, and now they have the miniatures the campaign page cannot be modified. They are however viewable on this weekends videos and in the campaign updates in most cases.
Hope that answers your questions
My 32bits.
As someone who spent the time on a Friday evening to print out and cut out all the Beta Kit materials the guys at 4ground were nice enough to provide, I think this is great for people who want to get stuck into the game. I played on my desk using proxy miniatures on Saturday. I Wish I had the chance at the time of the KS to get a better understanding of the game.
That said, the only way I could late pledge is if they offered the “A Chance Encounter” pledge. I would need 2x starter kits because that is the only way I can get any of my friends to also play. I would need to be able to give them a kit. I know that is not possible because it would be unfair to the KS backers who did back the campaign and I understand that.
A starter set for me has to be for two players so I can cajole others to play. Perhaps a two player starter set with a single rule book if that is possible or as FFG is doing a PDF only rule book to lower the expense.
It is otherwise too expensive for me but kudos to the guys at 4ground for reaching out to the community.
There is a late backer kit on there with two starter sets and all the cards?
KS = £70, Late Pledge £140. At £70 I will take a chance to convince someone to go into this with me, at £140 not so much. Star Wars Legion I barely had to open my mouth and friends were going all in with me. This is a much harder sell for me. I can wait until retail or simply pass.
Regardless, it was a nice thing for 4ground to do even if it does not work for me and the beta print and play was a fun Saturday afternoon.
if it’s the minis you’re interested in you could get the two starter sets (well well worth the money on the pledge rather than waiting for retail and you didn’t hear that from me)
If you’re just interested in the game, Ben is all about making it accessible for everyone. The rules, cards and choice to swap to d6 is entirely to get people playing.
His mantra over the weekend has been, “we want people to play, and if they want to play with our minis and terrain that’s great, but they don’t have to.”
So even if you don’t back, you will still be able to get the rules when it goes official and play with whatever fantasy minis you have. I’ll be using this rule to allow me to field my knights of the round table as Eight Fold Path and throw in the Princess Bride figures with sell swords
So, while I know many appreciate the kickstarter and everything, can I ask if this will hit retail at some point?
I have a local gaming store and I do like to buy from there whenever possible to make sure i continue to have one.
I think the plan is for this to go to general retail in late 2018. That right?
correct
Great move guys. Opening the pledge manager after such a great weekend will sure bring more peoples to the game. Will ask a few friends myself. Great event so far! 🙂
Great news.
I’m tempted to jump in for a few of the miniatures, just to check out the 3d printed stuff. Very curious about that.
I just have one thing to say, yay!
Just be aware that the stretch goals are NOT include on late pledges. At least they weren’t when I asked previously. Ended up not supporting because it didn’t seem worth it otherwise, at least to me. YMMV
Oh. Really? Good to know. Thanks for the heads up!
*included
Oh no. Do I need holiday money?
I got most of the starter sets during the KS but i’m sure there’s more stuff i could add to my pledge…
Maybe add some stuff while we can.
So glad I backed before and can a little extra.
Smart moves 🙂 I’m finally getting a chance to catch up on all this content over the weekend. Gonna grab a pizza and settle in.
I thank you, my wallet does not.
… and backed
Damn, I really want to see what the printed minis are like in hand. Might have to have a look.
WOHOOOOO!!!! Awesome guys! I wanted to get in on this kickstarter but couldn’t, and now I can!!! Love you guys for doing this! Thanks for all these lovely videos and work this weekend, guys at Beasts of War & 4 Ground!
It’s Great of you guys to open the kickstarter again will this offer still be open until Tuesday 27/2/2018 as I get paid again then.
As an original KS backer I want to add more but it seems already finished pledges are not unlocked currently. Please let us know how to proceed.
So i have never done this before , What about existing backers who want to add stuff?? How dowe go about that … start a new order or can we some how add on to the exizsting one … (Frightened of $%%%% up my existing order)
start a new order mate, the link at the top of this page takes you to a new survey. Your old survey is locked in and can’t be changed anymore
Cheers 🙂
Very tempting, but have at least this week to think it over. Time to download the beta rules and to look it over
Worked on me….ordered the late backer pledge, and able to split the cost on another BoW backstager who missed the KS.
I don’t game a lot, but after seeing the beta weekend, it solidified a lot for me about the game that i didn’t really get from the KS campaign, so this has been a brilliant move for 4ground to open it up.
Yes i might have missed some discounts, but now ive seen the game in action, i’m happy to invest in this.
Now to work out how to pay for it all lol
Would love to back it as I really enjoyed the content over the weekend and still watching various videos etc. I will instead wait for the retail release and in the meantime start a proxy war band to play and practice the mechanics of the game. Are the ability cards available online to print out at all?
Thanks
go to http://www.beastsofwar.com/4ground/fabled-realms-state-beta/
and then download the Beta Pack, it contains all the cards
It’s a very cool thing.
I’ve got difficulties to decide for one faction, though. Ideally I’d like to pick and choose models from across the factions. 😀
Anyway, I recommend showing the miniatures themselves as much as possible. Very much like the art but it’s supplementary and seeing the actual products (or estimated ones) is more important here. Don’t you think?
Hope the 4ground people read this…
this is just the backer survey reopened, hence the art. They didn’t have the models for the majority when they set it up, because that was the reason for the KS in the first place. So they can’t amend the pictures
Sure. Didn’t grasp that on the way too excited road. ^^
Still, it’s a bit inconvenient that there’s no distinct place where you find everything wrapped up and I believe for people who are not that enthusiastic about this Fabled Realms enterprise (yet, because they don’t understand) that would feel more accessible.
So would be worth presenting the amazing stuff (background, art, miniatures and game wise) that they got already in it’s own space. No?
Hi All,
As avernos has said the backer survey was reopened so some things we were unable to change as people had already ordered them or they are set. For example the resin upgrade is still there, this has been selected by our kickstarter backers so we are unable to remove it.
Also if you are thinking of getting two starter sets and do not want the additional rules, tokens, etc. there is an option of just the minis and the appropriate character cards.
Regards,
Cad
I’d jump in but I’m waiting for you to announce I’ve won a £500 voucher so I can spend that on fabled realms.
