The trouble with plex is you only have one user that can add stuff. So just storing wouldn’t do much. But a server instance (with what ever YouTube like software) could potentially get other creators to leave YT and do their own thing. As far as I understand it most channels only make pennies on ads. And they make their living from sponsorships and deals.

But it’s just a thought that keeps popping up in my mind. Sadly the software (peertube) isn’t as easy to set up as some other web applications… and I’ve tried 😉
