1) What is the longest wait for any order you put out? Kickstarter, pre orders at your FLGS…
I think the Conan RPG was the longest for the complete set, but they did ship bits and pieces.
As I am not one of those “gimme now or I scream ‘fraude!'” types I am not bothered by the wait, because there’s no point in asking people to hurry up when they’ve outsourced production to a 3rd party …
Plus the entire pandemic made a real mess of the entire ‘just in time’ delivery that 95% of companies tend to use.
Saga World Builder .. I backed that one too. And like a lot of those ‘first run’ kickstarters they ran into the usual problems of converting an idea into a thing that could be mass produced. I consider it part of the risk with kickstarters and a reminder that these things are not webshops.
2) Have you ever cancelled your order on something that took ages to arrive?
Nope. The webshops I’ve used tend to deliver within reasonable time frames (next day – ish) and the ones that don’t I either avoid or set very low expectations so as to not be dissappointed.
For kickstarters I believe that one shouldn’t use money that one can’t afford to burn. I tend to consider anything except actual fraud a result that was worth the cost for either me or the people attempting to make the thing. Demanding a refund (like some of those impatient fckers do) is kind of silly as the money was already spent … and such things tend to accelerate the death spiral.
3) You do realize that 2022 is almost half done?
ssst … you might jinx it 😉
One week down … and even though I ought to have done stuff I didn’t, because all the hammering and drilling that’s going on in the appartment building is soo annoying and distracting.
Did watch ‘Mr. Robot’ on Amazon (probably the only tv-show that tried to make hacking look realistic … ).
Anyways … I shall attempt to re-organise my pile of opportunity to make room for the next incoming package (most likely Hellboy related).
Should be able to archive my Astroguards from the recent kickstarter delivery.
Very Retro 70’s/80’s SciFi feel to those minis, which is why I had to have them …
