We’ve had a pretty decent turnout of votes; there was a risk I might end up spamming the forum/Discord server for the next few days, trying to squeeze out a couple more, but it looks like we’ve had a reasonable-enough response rate to declare a winner. And the winner is….. Batman!

Now I’m quite happy to accept the results of the polling site, which was calculated on average number of stars per voted mini.
But I know a few of you might have different thoughts on how the scores should be calculated – for example, a single mini with just one vote of six stars would have an average score of six. And another mini with nine votes of six and a single vote of five or less would have a lower average score. And I agree that it does seem harsh that a mini that didn’t garner as many votes could “leapfrog” one with lots of high votes and just one less-than-optimal vote. But the whole point of having a spread of stars was to give those that may not be super-popular, but have a really strong, passionate backing, a chance as well.
Creating a simple average across all minis based only on the stars awarded to each would mean that the average score per mini would get reduced disproportionately for votes assigned to those at each end (most votes/least votes) of the spread.

In short, it turns out I implemented a voting system that seemed like a lot of fun but is a pigging nightmare to work out a winner from! So I just went with what the voting site said. But I wanted to show you guys that you can trust the results….

In the end, I couldn’t be bothered to work out lots of different alternatives for you (I mean, I quite like you lot, but there are only so many hours in a day, and I’ve got other stuff to be getting on with). So I asked ChatGPT instead.

And when one of the world’s most powerful super-computer-driven AI systems tells you Batman has won…. well, there can be no disputes can there?

And let’s be honest – that Batman mini was absolutely fantastic and fully deserved to win! (it got my six stars).

So there we go, this month’s winner is GORRAM.

Congratulations!
And you get to choose the theme for next month.
It can be anything you like.
I have my fingers crossed you’ll choose one of two possible themes I have in mind, so I’m really looking forward to what you choose!

Thanks to everyone for joining in – whether painting or voting or just cheering everyone along.
I love these monthly challenges and long may they continue!
