Too much ?

Not at all.

I’d even argue that we have too few options that are realisticwhen we want to play against humans on a local level.

For most of us that means that we have a choice between playing a GW game or nothing at all.

Too few are willing to break that cycle, because doing so requires an investment in time and brain power.
It requires finding a shop that sells something other than GW, which requires you to spend time.
It requires you to learn a different set of rules, which requires brain power.

Most people are unwilling to invest either of those resources, so they chose convenience.

This sucks because if you want to play something a bit different then you’ve got a really steep hill to climb, which is another negative factor as most of us are in this hobby to relax.

I do wish that the ones who only ever play the popular game would be willing to give an alternative a fair opportunity.
