Surprising number of Panzer IIIs knocking around in the Netherlands in ad-hoc formations. I always find it more interesting on occasion to roll out the smaller and less shooty option…

Panzer Kompanie Mielke was composed mainly of Panzer IIIs and the models in the game were based on three of their tanks knocked out by the Irish Guards near Elst in September 1944.

Thank you. I tend to try and get the look of the buildings right for the region. That goes a long way in setting the scene.

@piers Useful info, thanks. I quite fancy adding a couple of early mark Pnz IV from 21st Pnz Div or some of the French armour that the panzer training battalion had in Normandy to my West Front Germans just for a bit of variety as well as some captured Been Carriers covered in Panzerschreks and Panzerfausts.

@piers – I love the Cromwell in the streets of a Dutch village.  Why am I reminded of:

“There’s a Tiger right behind that building!  I’m telling you, he’s there!  You put a couple rounds through that building …”

“My orders are no unnecessary destruction of property!”

Also, the Archer is another neat touch, an AFV you don’t often see on the table.

Those tiny farms are spot on in colour too based on a few rare photographs of that era :

Also note the use of horses to drive cars …
