Feedback on Achievements

As you interact with the platform you will start to unlock achievements and XP

Up until now you earned XP (or Karma as we have always called it) from thumb ups from other community members. Moving forward we are adding to that.

We believe that there should be many ways to build up XP points based on a wider array of interactions you take with the platform and between you and the rest of the community.

Some examples of how you can unlock achievements and XP.

• Commenting on Articles and on Other peoples Projects
• Replying to Forum Topics
• Getting Thumb Ups
• Making friends on the platform
• Keeping your profile up to date
• Publishing Projects
• Getting and Giving nominations for Tutoring, Skill and Ideas in projects
• Adding, Games, Companies, Ranges, Places and People to the system
• Rating Games
• Writing Reviews
• Getting Thumb Ups on Your Reviews
• Earning Golden Buttons for your projects
• More on the way

Achievements Refresh Every Year

So the current block of achievements are the 2018 Block, and every year from here on in there will be a shiny new block for you to work on unlocking, some will be the same, many will be new 🙂

You can’t seem to see anything you haven’t already unlocked, but you can see what other have to get an idea of what you could unlock.  But we don’t really want people doing things just to unlock achievements.  That’d end up in spam and be completely pointless.

Achievements and XP?  Very nice.  Was pleasantly surprised to see aI got an achievement by changing my profile picture 🙂

A few ideas :

• an option to disable this feature
• a ‘close popup’ button or something so it is obvious that we don’t have to wait for the pop-up to *eh* dissappear
• an option to set the position / size of the popup (it is a bit too big and ‘in yer face’ at the moment).
