Suprisingly enjoyable, and great value at £7, a bit like civilization bit with more focus on combat in the grim dark.

Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord

Mount & Blade is a bit of a legend in the PC gaming community, small discount bit fantastic game where you build up your warband and eventually maybe have your own kindgom

This shouldn’t need much introduction, an absolute classic and the latest version is amazing detailed and fun.

Hearts of Iron IV

Want to simulate WWII, you can control any country from the mightly USA to Switzerland, fantastic strategy game with a lot of detail though a somewhat steep learning curve. A steal at this price.

Total War: THREE KINGDOMS

Set in ancient China this is probably the most polished of the Total War games and fantastic fun, a very intresting hero system.

Simpler Hex based WWII game, very enjoyable and easy to play

Warhammer 40,000: Armageddon

Gem of a game, hex based, not overly complex and fun to play, even if you have no interest in 40k.
