Morning peeps.

Question: how is it that I always feel bad when someone is so excited about a new game/system and I just don’t like it?

I mean I’m happy for people finding things to enjoy but when they try to make me “go for it” and I tell them “but I don’t like it” I always feel like kicking a puppy. And I’m not even saying things like “it’s shite” but try really to be rational with me declining.

There are so many different “worlds” to play in that I do not care about and even more sculpts and artwork that I can acknowledge as “well done” but still really do not like the look of it.

Rationally I know I can’t be loving everything (that would include loving G’Wullu!!111!) but still it feels bad to say “nah, don’t want it. Please move along”

@sundancer the fact that you feel bad, I think, points to your desire to see all hobby fellows enjoy their choice of the hobby.  I believe you have evolved into a Genuine Hobby IPTV HOST of the highest order.  ??

There is no way for any one person to deeply love all avenues of this enormous hobby.  The fact that you don’t dump on a version of the hobby that you personal don’t enjoy is an act of kindness.  Not deeply sharing someone else’s level of happiness can cause us to feel like maybe we are missing out on something thing joyous.  Personal taste is just that personal.  Never feel internally bad for not liking something.  To each their own.

Your a good man!  I’m happy to count you as one of my Internet Friends and fellow hobbyist! ??

It’s a bit like when your child comes up to you to show off their lastet picture and you say “yes that’s nice” and think (for a split second) “did you draw that with your bum?”.

Anyhow, back to work.

@sundancer We’ve seen what can be done with dusting off old work. @zebraoutrider brought back quite a bit from “the forgotten brink”.

We all develop our own aesthetics and taste of flavors. I personally do no like mint or peach ice cream very much and if mayonnaise were to cease existing I would only be the happier. Other people just love those things and I don’t share gustal comeraderie. With minis its the same thing. Other things exist and they are to the liking of others. If others promote the hobby as art and craft to be seen as skillful then it is good. Never beat yourself over bum pictures people have paid money on novelty. There has been atleast one “artist” who has shot paint from his rear on canvas and called it a work of art.

@sundancer I’m all for reducing the pile of shame but I’m also conscious of actually finishing projects I’ve started or have literally accumulated dust! Thanks to yourself and @avernos and the likes of @horati0nosebl0wer and @scribbs this community continues to inspire us to produce less out of one end that we’d rather not look at again and a lot more that we can be rightly proud of…

 It is done! Standing at about 16″ tall (roughly 40.6cm) this is one hell of a hefty bit of resin. I’ll see if I can get the small wall for the bottom reprinted. For future reference I used the Rust-oleum Nutmeg (it matches GW Steel Legion Drab) then dabbed on RMS Stained Ivory and then RMS Yellowed Bone. The VMC Dark Blue is the same as the resr of the army and the metallic was Vallejo Air Light Bronze (need to find the bottle again).
