About the Project

In this project I will show off a bunch of random miniatures that I have painted as random post-apocalyptic survivors for games such as "Last Days: Zombie Apocalypse", "This is Not a Test" and even "Fallout: Wasteland Warfare". Some characters will be more custom creations/kitbashes and those will often have a bit more of a story, I will go into details of their story when they are posted.

I have been going through some miniatures I painted earlier to see which ones would fit this warband. I did Cait and Doggles earlier and thus I thought let’s have a look at some more. I painted a ton of miniatures just for the sake of painting so there is bound to be some good ones.

Going through some old stuff.

These are the miniature I found that I would want to use for this warband. However they all have some issues I will go over, from left to right.

Raging Annie from Bad Squiddo Games. I’m happy with the paint job on her, although I might add a little touch on the blade. Overall all she needs is to be rebased.

Vic Lewinski from Hasslefree Miniatures. Much the same as with Annie, just needs to be rebased.

Rowena Von Graaf from Reaper Miniatures. I am somewhat happy with the paintjob on her, however she does have some desert dust weathering on her skirt. I think it may be best to strip her instead of rebasing, but I’m not a 100% decided on her yet.

Jack Booted Sadist from Crooked Dice. I am really unhappy with her face mostly. I could just redo the face but I’d rather strip than start giving her a face that has 10+ layers of paint on it.

Elite Suzi from Hasslefree Miniatures. I am overall unhappy about the paintjob on her. The top, skirt and sword look alright, but that’s about it. So she will be stripped and repainted.

Older pictures of each miniature.

Cait & Doggles

To start off, I rebased Cait and Doggles (Dogmeat with Goggles) from Fallout: Wasteland Warfare by Modiphius.

Bases

For the bases I am going to use Greenstuff Worlds acrylic bases in 30/40/50mm where appropriate. The bases themselves are transparent, but I will however be painting and basing them. I will base them in my grassland style bases as I use for the Order of Heimdallr. However, I will paint the rim on the base differently. The front 180° arc will be in Scale 75 Scalecolor Irati Green (SC-43) and the rear in Vallejo Game Color Black (72.051).

Why am I painting and basing transparent bases?

Well, some metal miniatures come with a moulded on base and I while could cut them off an glue them on the base it would be a fairly week bond and the miniature fairly heavy.

Why do I not use MDF bases instead since they would be cheaper than acrylics?

I personally don’t like the feel of MDF bases when I pick them up, so it’s completely personal choice.

Why those exact sizes?

I want to use them for “Fallout: Wasteland Warfare” as well and that game relies on very specific base sizes.
