With the release of Blood and Valor I have revisited my old collection is Great War miniatures originally used with Warhammer historicals Great War ruleset and giving them a spring clean and looking at the difference between the two systems

French Trench Raiders
I got another box of French plastics so I can complete my units. First off is an 8 man Trench raider squad. To make them stand out I've given them all gas masks and had some tossing grenades 
One unit done today Letters from the front
Dear mother. At last we met the enemy in the village of REDACTED and the Major had us deploy in the ruins as the Guns came into view. We were determined to rid Belgium of the Invaders and be home by Christmas.
The Vickers set up in a position that gave us a commanding view of the village square but the cowardly Germans stayed beyond the tree line and out of sight.
Then they arrived on the left flank. The sound of startled chickens giving away their advanced. Our boys spotted approaching cavalry and took shelter in a house which gave them a great view of the Germans who fled before a mad minute if rifle fire. They were as startled as the chickens.
Our second squad broke out into the town square using abandoned vehicles for cover 
They didn't spot the Jaeger's in the woods who sneakily fired in our lads from cover.
The Jaeger's fire from the side surprised us forcing to pull back with our wounded
The German cavalry could do nothing against our lads sheltering in the buildings so swept on across our rear hoping for a breakthrough. Meanwhile we broke cover and charged for king and country into the woods and the Jaeger's fellback but much to our surprise their officer rallied his men and struck back with equal fury forcing us back to the town square.
In the far side of the river we had been pinned down by machine gun fire but eventually managed to silence the gunners with some well aimed rifle fire while the Jaeger's finally left the woods and began to skirt the village avoiding our machine gun which turhd about in time to destroy the cavalry in our rear. We will be retreating towards REDACTED. Give my love to Fannie. X 
This had been a good game of Blood and Valor which was faced passed and bloody. The Germans won 6 points to 5 and the game ended with the Jaeger's being the only German unit left unable to come out of cover with out being gunned down. You really need to put your officer to good use to keep units active. I used starwars legion tokens because I have so many of. themPreparation for a game

A gold button and they aren't even finished. This is the second button for this project so I must be doing something right. Mix of mud and flock. I'll get them in s trench board this week and see how they look.
