About the Project
Speedpainting my Conan The Miniature Game which has been sat on the shelf for long enough now. I'm determined to get it all done before Christmas so the emphasis will be on speed. I'm using AP Speedpaints over a zenited primer. Just pics of finished models - techniques are in my Slaine project.

Monsters 2
Here are the remaining creatures starting with the largest, every Stygian’s favourite and pride of Thulsa Doom – the Giant Snake.
Thog, demon God of Xuthal.
A Demon from the Outer Dark
And finally a glass-jawed camel.
That’s it for Conan: The Miniatures Game apart from the main man who I saved as a treat until the end. At the same time as this game I also did the four minis from the Conan Tower of the Elephant game. They will be in the next update.
Conan himself and project summary
Here’s the main sculp of the main man.
That’s 245 miniatures done in 16 weeks or about 2 a day. Bearing in mind this wasn’t the only project I worked on during this time. I was inspired to try to recreate the Adrian Smith art on the miniatures and Speedpaints definitely helped with getting the same look that Adrian has in his watercolour work. The full gallery of Adrian’s concept artwork for this game can be found here.
Up next I’m starting to play both games, starting with the smaller one Tower of the Elephant.
Conan: Tower of the Elephant
There are four minis in this game, the rest are standees that I’m hoping I can swap for actual minis now I’ve got so many painted. The four in this set are slightly smaller than the main set but look fine next to them. Conan is small and weedy looking but this is his first adventure when he was a very young man.
His fellow thief Taurus.
Yara the evil sorcerer.
And finally Yara’s pet, a giant spider.
And finally a shot of them all in the game context. I’m still learning this one and the Let’s Play from the developers and Sam is proving very useful.
Finished
All done then. Here it is:
And then back into the foam inserts before going away:
Its been fun. That is the second one of these big box games finished now after Mythic Battles: Pantheon which I completed a few years ago. The next one will be started later in the year, Solomon Kane. I want to get the expanded Speedpaints set first and finish my Spring Clean Challenge but then I’m all over it.
