About the Project

After getting the family into playing RPGs it was only a matter of time before my son got into 40K. He's collected a small force of Ultramarines and now wants some characters. After seeing how much the characters cost I decided they could be Kitbashed.

Now that the characters are assembled I’m going to try and get some paint on them. Going to aim for a table ready standard but some might just get a base coat and wash. It depends on how much I can do before my son’s birthday. (They are one of his birthday presents) Then once he’s ready / can be bothered. he can finish off the painting.

Once he gets his hands on them I will discover how well I glued and pinned all the bits together!?

I must admit I’m not looking forward to painting space marines. Although it should make them look more complete.

It’s also going to be a bit of a challenge painting them in the car on my lunch break.

Captain Table ReadyCaptain Table Ready

I just about had time to prime the characters ready for my son’s birthday. I also painted one up to be ‘Table Ready’.

(I kept to my tradition of pebble dashing 10% of the miniatures I primed)

I got to test out painting minis in my car. This was OK except the lighting quality was very poor. Not having a portable lamp is a problem.

It’s been interesting Kitbashing space marines. The size of them really helps. They are alot easier to work with than Halflings!

But I’m probably not going to be doing anymore.
