About the Project
A game with dinosaurs and treasure hunters sounds great. Painting dinosaurs sounds fun, I have a colour cube to play with and the new rogue hobbies paints , what could go wrong. Better make some more jungle stuff too

Lights!
I added a few magnets to give the option of attaching a few lights, not overly practical for gaming, but fun for photos
We Want A Shrubbery
Drowned Earth is set in a verdant jungle. Therefore the natural parts of the centre need a bit of greenery and indeed green stuff.
I am using some new material for leafy vine effects, it’s kinda chaotic, but I am liking the results so far
Village Centre: Base coat done!
First step done. Now for dry brushing and greebles
The Village Centre
So finally I decided to make a start on the centre piece for my drowned earth terrain, this will take a while.
End of day/evening one. Here’s where I am up to.
Day two will be finishing the wood and then starting on the metal frame work, can’t see me getting that much further today.
Day three, started on the metallics , this will be tie consuming. But it’s a good opportunity to try my AK paint pens
Progress Update
I finally got around to assembling my remaining figures for Drowned Earth. Lovely miniatures but definitely not for people new to the hobby. I primed them with a colour forge purple.
Bamboo houses
I had 3d printed a bunch of quirky bamboo huts on stilts and primed them a kind of yellow brown. They were more fantasy themed than anything, but I wanted something a bit more techy and post apoc.
Printed off a load of greebles, the STL files were from Miscast miniatures. I then added a bunch of panels to the buildings to imply there was some sort of equipment needing vents inside the buildings.
I decided to reprime the buildings to black. I used Monument hobbies paint for the roof and also for the drybrush over the bamboo. I had loosely base coated the black with Vallejo flat brown then drybrushed them with light grey.
Over this I used Vallejo express paints as a wash, copper brown and wasteland brown were used. I was quite pleased with the colours they turned out.
I decided to go with a metal framework for the supports and railings. I drybrushed with light gray, then a bit of silver craft paint. Then used the cloud blue from Vallejo express paints. I was kind of winging it, but it turned out ok
Getting ones' rocks off.
Next up are the rocky outcrops, these will be a lot easier to process.
First I primed them black, then a darkish grey dry brushing. Followed by a lighter shade.
Next I took some army painter washes and diluted them, I slapped these on in no particular order. I used their soft tone, red and green.
Following that I will use an even lighter drybrushing on some areas .
Aside from a little dirty down moss that’s the brushwork done
