Next on the blocks are Voth and Homunculus. I’m starting with the little Homonculus here.

I wanted to get the book done first so I could then focus on the rest of the miniature. I drew in details using a fine micron pen that was meant to be waterproof when dried. But if course it smudged when I tried to do anything the following day… So I retouched and then gave it a quick spray of varnish to fully fix it, before adding extra colour, and allowing me to do some more shading and weathering later.

They call me MR CHUBS!

Such a characterful little miniature is ol’ Chubs here. I really enjoyed getting his face right.

Another glowing D4 Moonstone and an attempt to do a bit of OSL glow from it. Not overly successful, but doesn’t look too shabby.

Gloom

Gloom came together pretty well. I like the glow from his lantern, and am again pleased with the basing. I’ve kept most of his colours quite earthy so that the glow stands out more.

Finally, Leshen!

This is the Wendigo from the Wild Things set. I tried to go with a blood dripping hand but it went a bit clumpy. Nevertheless, it looks like a proper gore soaked fist – like he’s just punched his fist straight through someone – urrrgh.

Love the details on this miniature, and am super-pleased with the basing.

Danica the Dusk Witch

For Danica here, I wanted to make her look quite dank and damp – like she’s crawled out of a swamp. I attempted an ombre graduation from lighter purple down to black on her skirt. The skin was achieved with some mixes of green and yellow contrast paints. Yellow eyes give her a sense of menace.

Antonia the Noonday Witch

And here she is. Am really pleased with the details and how her face has come together. I like the little plaid patch on the back of her skirt, and the green goop in her cauldron.

When shall we erm, two witches meet again?

Some initial progress on two of the witches from the A Witch In Time set – Antonia the Noonday Witch and Danica the Dusk Witch.

Here, I’ve been blocking in the basic colours – earthy browns for Antonia’s clothes, and greens and purples for Danica.

Some highlights and shade on the fur, highlights on the white underfur and painting in the horns – and the Jackalope is done!

Not much space on the base for too much detail – but a fern and tuft or two ties it into the other bases.
