#Ottspringclean2025 : Making intro game armies from abandoned projects

I finished the models but had a major issue when my phone got seriously damaged. I will update with proper pictures soon.

I finished the spear men yesterday and I need to do a glamour shot. Now it’s onto the demons as the major focus and a piece of terrain I want as a center piece to the board.

Unfortunately I had a major incident today where a spray can malfunctioned and painted a carpet and door.. that was not fun. But not much I can do about it now.

Hoping to have these finished very soon. Metal done and washed tomorrow night then basing on Thursday. Might have to rely on tufts when I was hoping to use static grass but we’ll see.

Not sure what project will come after. I’ve got a few of them on hold and I may as well keep quick firing this. It’s been fun doing fast updates before bed.

Needing a wash on the gold and done. I added an 11th so I can make a unit of 12 with a character model. Covers me for kings of war.

Primed and contrasted. They’ll need a wash later but they’ve been started at least.

When picking a secondary force I wanted something distinctly none human. So I I went through my options and then remembered OPR has community lists. I could use a balanced community list to use my Forces of the Abyss.

5 flame bearers, 10 lower abyssal and 3 berserker (primer is drying) is the current plan for the evil side of the intro force.

I also realized I was a model short of a kings of war regiment with the spear men so I dug another one up. They’re almost done now. The new guy needs his leather doing and the others need their gold washing. With an old character they will sit 12 on a regiment base. I accidentally added to an army I’ve been neglecting..

The abyssals are a bit awkward to paint since they’re using original army painted speed paints. They like to reactivate with light colours like the beige I paint the horns and claws.

Oh and did I mention I’ve got sick? Really bad time for it but I’ll soldier on. Hopefully I’ll have to spearmen finished tomorrow and then I’ll get some pictures. The basing can wait so i can base everything together and have it matching.

There is a new club starting in my area soon and I want an opr intro set to introduce people to the hobby. Digging up my backlog it was Elves, Orcs (Lots of black orcs made a boring list), Goblins (easy to paint), lust demons (not for intro..) or Chaos dwarves (Not sure on slavery for intro either..). So I’ve settled on some good old fashioned elves vs goblins. Despite being human infantry these guys are going to be a unit of elves with halberd (rending is less complex than counter)..
