Packers are Tyranid support organisms that trail behind Picker packs, securing captured prey in organic cocoons. Avoiding combat whenever possible, they preserve and convey living specimens to Nematode Processing Centres for analysis and assimilation.

Pickers

Pickers are agile Tyranid organisms engineered to capture prey alive. Operating in coordinated packs, they swiftly paralyze targets with minimal injury.  The specimens are later retrieved by Packers.

Squig Swarm – Finished

Although I need to make a lot more.

Slow Progress

I’ve managed to finish the 1st model of the Combat Patrol. Not sure how quickly I can kitbash and paint another 19 Termagants / Hormagaunts?

Getting Grimdark

I thought it would be appropriate to go Grimdark with this one.

Getting Grimdark

To make it more Grim than normal, I just used shiny varnishes and added plenty of UHU glue slime. Then took dark moody photos.

Finding a Direction

I have been experimenting with different ways of making Tyranids more human.

The more human they get the more disturbing / horrific they seem to get.

Finding a Direction

Just going with 2 arms rather than 4, really makes them more humanoid and relatable.

Squig Swarms Squig Swarms

I’ve been looking for an interesting direction to go in with these models from this Combat Patrol.

So it looks like I’m going to be doing Body Horror Tyranids.

I’ve been looking at some old artwork for inspiration for making Squig Swarms (Ripper Swarms)

Sidetracked

So instead of making the Combat Patrol stuff I’m playing about making weird little things.

The plan is to use 40mm bases with a selection of different creatures on. I’m trying to make an interesting little scene on each base.

Big & Small

I’m combining my Psychophage with the Hive Tyrant. The aim is to make a flying ant type thingy.

Big & Small

Squig Swarms were once a thing. So I’m kitbashing together some Crypt Ghouls & Genestealers. (These kits are not included in the Combat Patrol)
