I have 12 miniature holders, so I decided to grab miniatures from various projects and do a batch of 12 from to chip away at the primed mountain of glorious opportunities.

I was quite pleased with how they turned out. With the colours established I was able to quickly complete another batch of ten

Another day, another army

Fresh from completing my winter soviets I fancied a move to warmer climes. I decided on US marines to fight my friends horde of Japanese. I really need to stop painting those for him!

Another day, another army

Having assembled the miniatures I primed them with a rattlecan from the plastic soldier company , the finish is really nice but the actual spray leaves a lot to be to be desired.

I have roughly 46-50 plastics and a few metal figures to go at. I started by painting the skin, took a few coats. It’s always tricky when you have a mountain of minis and you’re very much locked into the trust the process section of painting where nothing looks too great.

Another day, another army

I changed my strategy to stop the ‘trust the process’ bit from dragging me down. I was pretty much winging it in terms of colour choices, and I felt I needed to prove the method was going to work. I set aside ten miniatures and focussed on finishing them completely.

Never be afraid to change your methodology, it’s a hobby and meant to be fun.
