Making everything grimy
Wanting to clear the decks I took advantage of the clement weather and applied a grimy wash to the remaining buildings.
I still have a few other buildings I could print, but as it stands all the terrain fits in one box and that’s enough for now.
The Only Track I Want To See is Is the Circus Maximus
Just an update on where I am up to on Rome. Only three buildings to print and then slap a wash on these. Then I can start painting the miniatures.
Why must you duck building us an aqueduct?
Finished detailing with the AK pens and slapped a bit of a wash on.
Update
Having been unable to print for a few days I started working on what I had.
I also did another couple of sprues to add to the pile of belligerent plebs. Still waiting for the metals to arrive.
The next set of minis
I am liking how these are turning out, some of the bodies are from the dark ages Goths box.
I need to find my chariot a home
I had a play with some of the miniatures and this is where a small issue arose.
I had noticed the nice cobble bases from Reneddra, so I bought a bunch and prepped them . Primed black then drybrushed with browns and greys.
And then, I remembered the Wargames Atlantic miniatures come on puddle bases.
I decided to build a handful to see how easy it would be to remove the bases
I trimmed off most of the base with my mid tier clippers. Fortunately I had just picked up a new pack of emery boards.
It’s going to be a faff but I reckon the extra effort will be worth it.
I need a place for my sandals to roam
The weekend brought nearly two whole buildings, I found there’s some less than ideal parts in the design, but they are mainly going to be the backdrop rather than integral. There are canopies that cross both storeys and the first floor holds the big gates in place. So really I need to glue the floors together for convenience
