You know by now that we really love the look of the mats from Deep Cut Studios so we just had to stop in with them and have a chat about some of their new mats.
We also have a prize to give away from them which is a 4x4 Beach Mat, perfect for your invasion forces to battle across.

The beach mat looks pretty good. Seems to be perfect for a little invasion game or some pirate action.
If I am lucky enough to win that mat, I’ll take it to the beach this summer! Might work as a towel? 😉
I have a mat for Dropfleet and it is superb. Need to pick another one up for this game for a bit of variety
Something distinctly missing from a lot of peoples gaming setup is a convincing beach to fight over – and it’s such an iconic location – coastal town assaults, d-day, pirates – and of course going a viking with Saga!

I have a 6×4″ Steppe Mat from Deep Cut studio, Mousepad of course… It’s really great. I’ll probably buy another one for me or for my club.
Hm, there was a distinct lack of Warren taking a mat for a spin around the booth. I’m still super taken by their orbital mat but they have a ton of other gorgeous ones too including that beach map.
He got a bit carried away, it was far too x-rated for broadcast.

DeepCut Studios do some beautiful stuff. I agree with Justin that they do some of the best mats in the industry, actually probably THE best. The new material sounds intriguing. DeepCut have put out some amazing maps, a few of my favourites are: Cobblestone Streets, the Orbital Earth, Wooden Floor, and the Walking Dead Town tiles.
Loved Justin’s reference to Walking Dead scenario played out on the Beach Mat in the Beasts of War Studio, it was brilliant to watch, as was the Bolt Action Beach Assault game, proving it’s a versatile map.
For years I have wanted to make a beach assault style terrain board but lack of time and resources have prevailed. These type of gaming mats are a great idea. Keep doing what you do so well DeepCut team! Hopefully we can get a decent supplier in my locality one day and I look forward to the day I have some of the boys round to game on one of your pieces of art!

I absolutely love the deep cut mats, im slowly converting the tables at my local club. Theyre much more versitile than the plastic tiles.

I love these – such a great idea for instant atmosphere in a game. I can see one in my house being used for creating massive imaginary worlda in my boys room.

They do awesome mats! Can’t really get them in Canada yet (because of shipping costs), hope our big store in Toronto gets them (they’ve been TBA on there site forever now).
Deep-Cut make fantastic mats. I’ve a number of them already and more that I want to get.
Their mats are excellent I own several. The only downside is shipping to the US effectively doubles the cost.

I have a 3×3 grass matt from deep cut that has been on my dining room table more often than any of our table clothes because it is so versatile across the raft of games I like to play. I have joined a war gaming club where deep cut mats are a favourite and I’m glad to see the company is still innovating with new materials.
I’m playing blood and plunder on that matt, l love their mats. I own a couple, but always can use more!!!

It’s amazing how versatile a beach mat can be. You’d think it might be restrictive but once your imagination gets going there’s loads you can do. I’m thinking the Sea Devils from Dr Who. Awesome.
Here we are on the third and final day. It’s been a long weekend but for anyone who attended apparently a fun one. However, since it is the final day then it’s my last chance to shamelessly post as I’m going after either the 4Ground stuff or the Bushido stuff. I play Bushido here in the states. I teach it to whoever will listen, and I just try and represent it as it is. The best miniature game I’ve ever played.

The mats really make a difference in helping to suspend disbelief. Much better than taping together 85×11 paper print outs. Another great gaming accessory.

Love the deep cut stuff. I have a dropzone and dropfleet mat from these guys and the quality is excellent. would love to get my hands on that beach at some point – great for both 10 mm and 28mm

Love a heap of their mats, but postage to Oz is shocking. Still got me the orbital Night mat for Dropfleet though.

Deep cut studios make the most amazing mats. The textured one is interesting, but I wonder if playing on it would wear it off and hurt the visuals.
Ideal. The beach isn’t something I have though worth modelling for terrain – fairly limited use. But a mat could easily fix that

One of our gaming group has just invested in a Deep Cut mat and I’m totally won over. It makes gaming an absolute pleasure as moving figures around is so easy. I like the look of the textured mat too and would like to see it in person. As that isn’t too easy perhaps @warzan could “meet” it soon?
I didn’t know the beach mat came in 4×4 and that would be perfect down one end of my 8×4 table.
These guys are awesome, they make my favourite mats, I have 4 of them already. I don’t have a beach one though (ahem).
Saw their orbital mats on HAWK’s booth, and they are fantastic. Really wanted the snow mat, but after seeing the night city map had to change my mind, it is just amazing.
