Part of my ongoing 6mm Ghibli inspired dieselpunk project, I present the “stork” tank destroyer push prop ornithopter.
The design was a collaboration between me and Eli Arendt (of loud ninja games fame) CAD work by me, printed on my form 1+ and just assembled primed, washed and dry brushed to show the details a bit better.

In the setting we are working on these are piloted by sky knights and the main anti-tank gun is manned by their squire working in the cramped lower fuselage. They are made as a fast response to the land cruiser tanks that have started to dominate the battlefield. (prints of that shown on the old forum)
Truth be I feel it came out a bit big, so I’m working on a 65% sized version, with the cockpit sunk down a bit more (keeping the pilot the same size obviously)
That looks really nice. It really reminds me about Spike’s ship Swordfish from Cowboy Bebop.
Thanks! The swordfish wasn’t na (intentional) inspiration for the original sketches by Eli, but my mind went there as well. I placed the “eye” windows to be reminiscent of the gunship from Mausicaä but it also echoes the swordfish. Funny how that works out.
Couldn’t help myself, I blame Mecha for this colour scheme.
Notice the radial engine, it’s a bit hard to spot behind the props but its there.
