Modelling With The Boot Campers: The British Army Sikh
Jeff has been tearing on getting his British army ready to play for Bolt Action.
Taking advantage of the different head options provided in Warlord’s plastic kit, Jeff has decided to make a force based upon the Sikhs who as part of the British army in World War II.

interesting to make them as Sikhs but being able to use them for Italy also is a real bonus. better than using Normandy brits for italy.
Great Desert Boot Camp
Great idea. Didn’t realise this was an option with the new kits.
These would be great for Sikh and destroy missions…..
I’ll get my coat.
Whoa, the guys are really battering though the kits!
it’s impressive that there are sikh options in there. thats really appealing
The head options for both the new 8th Army and the DAK kits are really good.
I had a nose at the 8th Army box in a store this week. It’s very cool that you get the various head options – you could get to a sizeable and diverse army just with multiples of the same box.
I really do like his choice to go for the Sikhs. It makes for more variety in general and is not something you typically see.
another happy camper! hope we get to follow the progress of the Sikhs this weekend…
Loving the Sikh. I have some older Battle Honors Sikh. Would love to add to them.
cool idea.
like the options you have in the kits
Sikh options is pretty cool
Really great idea swapping out those heads, that’ll definitely add some lovely variety to the table.
Best thing: all black hair! I laughed XD currently painting 50 americans in 1:72 and i was so happy when i noticed i wouldn’t have to paint much face. apply face colour > wash a lot > brush a bit > done. no hair no eyes just … done in 3 steps aaah so good.
I had no idea that they came with those heads, even more reason tk collect the 8th army??
These different head options are genius, wish more companies would do this.
wish i was there, i would do the coldstream guards in honer of my granddad who saw action in north africa during ww2
Sounds like they are less finicky to build, that’s a plus.
I wonder how the rules for them are
I hope your mortars but more stuff than mine ever does!
I like seeing something different. These come with the kit, these Sikhs heads?
I think it’s great that there is an option on the sprues to make Sikhs.
The Sikhs are looking great, they’re one of the Commonwealth forces I’ve toyed with the idea of making (them and the West Africans in Burma).
But man, those mould lines!
very nice models, love the heads
At some point I need to get back to painting my 1500 point British force. My friend of mine got me into the game then realized he was unable to assemble and got discouraged with painting so now I have 1500 points of German grenadiers to do as well.
Will there be an award for the first bootcamper to glue his/her fingers together with superglue?
Also doing a Sikh force means you could use the unusual (for the tabletop) India Pattern Carrier (armed with a mighty AT Rifle in the Western Desert)

Nice looking Sikhs
So they have to assemble and paints their army today so they can play tomorrow? I’d be playing with one miniature.
Really like those head swaps! Looking nice.
Those heads look awesome.
there was more commonwealth troops then brits in the desert.
I hope we get to see more forces that don’t get much historical presence.
Different choice of allied army nice to see a kit made to take these into sccount
Nice work Jeff, I like people who try to get their army to tell a story.
I think I’d be going British Indian as well, although perhaps I’d opt for the Gurkhas instead. Great to see the Commonwealth represented on the table and the models look quality. And you can continue to use them for the Italian campaign.
Very nice Jeff. Hopefully we can hook up for a battle in Kelowna someday soon.
Nice to see that there is a good diversity possible in the brits sprue.
Hair is a moajor slow down in units. You can’t mass paint one colour. This is also a huge reason why we don’t often see ethnic diversity across units. Its much faster and easier to just batch paint one skin colour.
nice that you get head swaps
My western desert fores are british perry minis, i was tempted to get the conversion kits to make them an indian/sikh force, but decided against it just to get them built and playing quicker. I think i’ll use these new warlord ones to expand my force with some sikh squads.
Oh well, these miniatures seem really nice. When starting a Western Desert force I would also opt for a Sikh platoon. Fierce and fearless fighters. Also, I really like the diversity of troops to be fielded by the British with Commonwealth soldiers from all over the world.
Good to hear about the weapon change on the sprue.
That´s good and it was indeed my first idea when I studied the sprues on the Warlord website, to do them as Indians. There are very nice Indian ofiicer and NCO models from Artisan Designs, if one wants to add a bit more variety.
Amazed how quickly he’s gettin’ through them
Wow that is a great option to have on the kit, i love the idea of representing those other nations that contributed so much
Warlord did a very nice job on these new kits.
nice looking Brits
Interesting choice.
Exciting. This would modivate me to push thrpugh the artist’s painting block
Over here in the US we are never really told about the soldiers that fought from around the British Empire. It is one of those subjects that you either need to find out about on your own or is not talked about until university classes on WWII. Of course we also tend not to talk about the units of African Americans that fought or our internment of Japanese citizens either.
Cool army choice. They should look really cool. Do they have any special unit rules?
Great to see the Sikh forces getting some representation. Good move, Warlord!
Nice variety
I want to see Poles!
All Sikhs get black hair may be one of the best arguments ever!
Great looking forces here, love the look of the Sikhs
Liking the head swap
s, its taken time but now there finally here. Now with four types of heads you get to field a nice mix of common wealth forces, think ill get a box of the 30 8th army and make a mixed lot prob do a diorama, but that will have to wait a few months.Sikhs: Now I will have to get me a box or two. Deffo.
I like the different head options – really adds some variety to make your army a bit different.
Always nice to hear about modeling options.
That is awesome, I kinda want to buy some of the heads by themselves for conversions.
Loving the head swaps, I didn’t realize they were a part of the kit.
Like the options.
Nice to see they are easy to put together.
Love the versatility of the 8th army set. Would like to do some Scots if I had the chance. Keep up the great videos
That’s awesome that you have those sorts of choices with the heads. I dig it.
That looks like a PTRD for the Sikh anti-tank? Did the Soviets share those? Or maybe.. that’s a Boy’s AT rifle?
It’s a boy’s. You can tellthe difference a the boys has a magazine while the other was single shot
Absolutely the best part for me is the modeling!
That is just Sihk. I’ll see myself out now.
Nice to see something a little different getting put together. They are nice looking kits.
The 8th army Sikhs look sweet. Great option. So want to get an 8th army box set
I thought the Sikhs idea was a great little twist
Loving it
Some nice looking kits
Cool to see some not so standard forces!
Free stuff!
