Bolt Action: Western Desert Boot Camp Live Blog - Friday
Welcome To The Bolt Action Western Desert Boot Camp!
Welcome to Day One of the Bolt Action Western Desert where we’re going to be having fun with Warlord Games, building up awesome armies and taking them to the tabletop to show off a good old-fashioned clash between the British and the Germans.
Win Prizes
We have some great goodies to give away over the weekend. Each day you’ll be able to snap up an El Alamein Starter Set + A Panzer III & M3 Stuart.
All you have to do is comment on the Live Blog AND on the individual posts to be in with a chance of winning.
Make sure to get involved and find out more about both hobbying AND gaming during the Western Desert campaign in WWII.

Loving this
looking forward to seeing everyone battle. bolt action is our clubs ww2 skirmish game but we do Eastern front, my winter german’s tackling the hardened siberians.
B-E-A-UTIFUL tables.
If i were there I would play the Italians for no other reason than I think they would be the least popular army. But I think I would name my commanders after famous Italian filmmakers like Lucio Fulci or Dario Argento. And maybe I would model petrol cans to be spaghetti sauce cans, for a bit of silliness like Warren’s nazi UFO. I hope that’s not offensive to anyone here.
Who knows what lies buried in the deserts of North Africa? Could be a great Wierd War scenario… Can @warzan and his Nacht Wölfen discover the lost Alien UFO Technology before the Long Range Desert Group and the 8th Army thwart their evil plans…?
Have a nice Battle weekend.
Looking great lads – tables looking great too 😉
ah man, what a sweet set of prizes
Will look forward to the grudge match! 😀
It’s great how all those varied terrain sources go together so well. Really interested to see how the trench tables play.
Looks like folks are stuck in! Great prizes to be had. Pulling for the DAK!
The hobby set up against the wall is really well done. I like it better than the rows of tables previously being used.
Going to be an exciting (and very unproductive) weekend for me!
Wow, very nice event! I really like that scale, I am going to have to upgrade to this game system.
looks like it’s going to be a great weekend!
I’d love to do one of these, what a great idea!
awesome prizes.
love the trenches came out so well
Need to get a Indy looking mini for some pulp desert action.
Just wanting to make sure: what do you guys consider “AND the individual posts”? You guys are nebelwerfering us hard with indiviual posts 😀 Will price be drawn per day? at what time? over the weekend? aaaaaah gimme details, instructions not clear, panzer stuck in zipper! Aaaaaah!
enjoy your camp! @irishsteve FTW!
This looks real good!
el alamein battle set is on my xmas list.
That is a sweet bundle of gear for the winner. Good luck all.
SO EXCITING
Looking forward to seeing the battles on the trench table
The trench board looks brilliant. So jealous I cant be there. Hope you have a good weekend all. 🙂
Those tables look awesome
Wow you were not kidding, these tables are EPIC! Real good work folks.
Im digging the radio style intos and outros, and the desert trench board turned out beautifully well.
Tables look awesome. Hope everyone has a great time and looking forward to the coverage.
That’s nice, I wouldn’t mind either of those prices. 🙂
I paint 1/35 and 1/72 scale armor models and also do wargaming, and its awesome to be able to do both on the same game !!
Let the games begin
Another jump forward by the team good job.
Beautiful tables, I hope we see a few battle reports played on them.
How to lose with help?
“There is nothing in the desert, and no man needs nothing.”
Nice trench board.
Those tables are lovely ………….but I didn’t think it was so big….. this makes up for no weekender .. this will be fun
Tables look great, should be a fun weekend.
Awesome start cant wait to see more.
I don’t think I’ve ever seen a bootcamp so sedate and calm…. Where’s Warren?
the more i see this range the more i want them
Great work on the tables!
Looking forward to the grudge and generals matches.
Got the boxing theme playing in my head
Parp parp parpparpparp PARPPARPPARP parpparpparp etc, and so on.
Sunday: bring on the pain.
DAK for the win.
How I wish I could have been there. The tables look nothing but amazing!
What a nice trench table to recreate the siege of Tobruk. Butt vhere r ze Itallians?
“Tank God” John and his DAK are out-tanked by the Brits…? This should be interesting. Those Panzer IIIs do look sweet, I mean look intimidating, unlike the M3 Stuarts which look rather comical.
Yes the Trench table does look Impressive – could you post a plan view? I have been thinking of building an Armageddon trench table and need some ideas for the layout.
CAN’T WAIT FOR THE BATTLES TO BEGIN
The tables are very nice
Excellent looking tables for the boot camp, as usual.
Awesome prize and tables. Should be a blast. I really enjoy playing Bolt Action. It’s always a fun time.
John for the win. 🙂
Nice terrain
Great looking tables, and if i had one choice of table to play on it would be the “Trenches”. I do like the Afrika Korps, but on the other hand the Eighth Army also have there own appeal.
Tobruk is my favorite table. I wish I could be there.
Great looking boards,
Looking forward to the rematch,
not so sure mike holder is desired job 🙂
Looking forward to watching the weekend goodies, more a northern Europe fan myself but could be tempted across to mess about in the sand.
I recevied Bolt Action as a gift tooday, it is a good looking rule book.
I hope everyone keeps score so we can see if history repeats or will we be seeing a blue box show up to find out what changed 😉
Have fun all.
Quote of the day: its definightly a bigger gun than my guns
The tables look great, gonna be an awesome event.
Lets the Battles BEGIN! Oh, right they have to build things….Have fun everyone!
It all looks so good! Great job got ting everything ready.
I have to look at the upholstery foam trench log, that’s a lot of PVA and Sandbags.. drive a man nuts that.
one of these days ill drag my carcass across for one of these boot camps
I can’t wait to see some games on those tables!
That trench table really turned out incredible! That would work for multiple scales.
I love these new models, I had to put some work in to get the Mg34s on rifle arms to not have three prone sets though. The brit LMGs look to be more pose-able though.
Tables look incredible, great job as per usual.
What a weekend!@!!
I could go for some dessert action .. ;D Love me some tanks!
That trench table turned out great!
Love the look of the new models from warlord
