About the Project

I'll be painting up a variety of post-apocalyptic buildings and scatter/accessories to be used with Fallout: Wasteland Warfare and This is Not a Test. I'll also be reporting my progress on my blog at https://wordpress.com/view/hobbyhoo.org . You can see my first post about it at http://hobbyhoo.org/2019/02/24/im-back-and-switching-gears/ .

Phase 1 of Residential Ranch (Left Garage) by Sarissa PrecisionPhase 1 of Residential Ranch (Left Garage) by Sarissa Precision

I started with a little bungalow for my post-apoc neighborhood that will be inspired by Sanctuary Hills from Fallout 4.  I blocked out the base colors, using what I guess I would call a “wet-drybrush” style (barely any paint but not exactly drybrushing).  I used basic craft paints and bargain brushes, as I usually do for terrain.

The color scheme is influenced by real-life retro home design of the 1950’s.  I have 3 more similar houses, so you’ll see some variations in weeks to come.

I’m eventually going to decorate and add some related scatter to the interior of the house, but for now, my next challenge is finding the best ways to get it good ‘n grimy…straight outta Fallout.  Please drop me a suggestion if you have any!

You can read a bit more detail on my progress and thoughts on this blog post of mine if you’re interested!

Most of the terrain I’ve painted previously (see some of my Twisted terrain here) has been more idyllic and pristine.  I’m looking to make these neighborhoods nasty enough for Fallout: Wasteland Warfare and This is Not a Test.  I might need a few tips along the way!
