Flames Of War D-Day Boot Camp: Sunday
What's In The Box For The German Starter Force?
Justin sits down again with Chris from Battlefront to take a look at the German starter force for Flames of War.
This Panzer Kampfgruppe provides you with plenty of options on the battlefield, combining plenty of armour with fast, mobile infantry supported by artillery. The set also sees them accompanied by the infamous Tiger tanks!

Brutal set.
Hit the Beach and this expansion are at the top of my FoW list. Also, loved the little cutaway to @warzan getting his pulp fix, nice to see @warzan going all pulpy for the Sunday.
Justin spoke too soon 🙂
What an amazing boxed starter army! Still very much torn between the Germans and soviets. Every video I watch convinces me to a certain faction, but then I see another video that makes me change my mind!
My wallet asks you to stop tempting me like this.
But that is yet another great starter box.
Panzerawesomeness.
Germans or Americans that’s the decision now.
Awesome cant wait to pick this pack!.
Naughty Justin – Flak18/36 88mm was first used as an artillery piece and anti-tank weapon in the Spanish Civil War. The Western Desert campaign in WW2 was where it became almost a legend – long lines of sight were available so it could engage Matildas, light tanks and cruisers at well over 1000m range. Hubner was one of the famous gunners – knocked out 8 tanks in one day.
I remember the days when Justin would look at these sprues and be guessing what most of it is. John has trained him well since then.
This is probably my favorite of the starter set.
Well, as an American, I have to play the British forces obviously.
nice set, tempting but i like the american force and would like to add bren carriers for my ideal setup
Nice box set
looking forward to picking this up
Wait, did @lloyd break out the Martians again?
The Tigers will show you true fear..
this is a very nice set
Already have most of my Germans.
Save the best unboxing until last, that is one nasty collection of stuff!
If I’m not mistaken it would appear that the “screaming meemie” sprue can be built as a 37mm ATG. It looks like you can build one with the Stielgranate 41 in the kit too. One of those made an appearance in Band of Brothers during the assault on Carentan.
So you can build this kit all sorts of ways. Nice!
Achtung Pantzer !
brilliant looking box.
So many minis!!
Very nice set. Decisions, decisions…
Between the british set or the german set
That’s a well rounded force!!
I hadnt noticed that the core rulebook comes in all of these. That makes it easy to give a spare to a buddy to try to get them hooked
Viz all dat plastic you have a lottof verk ahead of you.
If I ever consider another German army, which I probably will, that box is for me. Although I´d rather build PAKs, no Nebelwerfers. The latter were not so close to the front, I imagine.
I’ve been waiting for this unboxing, I was already pretty much sold on this but now I definitely am.
Torn between this and the British army box – but the German tanks are so cool… and those 88’s
All ze Panzer!
Plastic tigers! I have a bunch of metal ones. They weigh ah ton! That box is amazing and worth every penny. Can’t wait to get one.
want this box
such a cool starter army, gonna have to pick that up, maybe 2 of them
my bank balance is going to take some serious damage this year
thi k this would be the army for me
That is a great army box. Didn’t realise you got so many variant options on the sprues. Makes buying a couple of these a serious consideration……
I absolutely love the content of this starter army. Would make a really strong army.
Between Hit the Beach and this set you can be pretty versatile in what you want to play. I personally love the direction Battlefront has gone with version 4.
I like how the new plastic gives you tons of options. Only problem I can see is needing more $$$ and storage for the models.
I think I’m going to get this one. such a good value!
Don
t know how many times i have watched this unboxing, i know its been a few. I think its my love of WWII Germans, or maybe its there machines of war i`ve fallen in love with.
