Something Big Is Happening on the Martian Front
April 16, 2014 by dracs
Good news to all you backers of the All Quiet on the Martian Front Kickstarter as it has been announced that shipping will begin next month While you are waiting for your goodies, we get to goggle at the sheer size of the awesome Iron Clad!
The Iron Clad Land Ship Detroit is a true monster of this 15mm scale game, towering over absolutely everything else.
Now that we finally get to see this model, we can get a real idea for the sheer scale Alien Dungeon are aiming for with this game.
I have to admit to being rather blown away by this model. Its style is still something recognisable as coming from the WWI era, but on a phenomenally larger scale. I hope we get a chance to get our hands on this at some stage.
Are you joining up to the Martian Front?

That’s awesome.
I have been following this game ever since the Kickstarter. I backed at Captain level, so I should have the rulebook coming my way when the goodies are dished out. There have been several delays, but it looks like everything is set for sending out the Kickstarter rewards in May, with the general public getting access a few months later.
All the models are looking fantastic, but I particularly like the Assault Tripods. The Heat Ray template is the kind of game mechanic that positively demands that you embarrass yourself trying to do sound effects when using it. 😉
I also think I will need to have a certain sound effect to hand while playing, just to help with the ambiance…

The straight edged turrets, and the lack of suspension on the tracks all scream WWI!
That’s one awesome looking mini!
I backed this kickstarter at a stupidly high level that I’d be embarrassed to say out loud. I fell in love with the tripods. I even put in the money to pick up one of these babies. I can’t wait for them to arrive. I’ll probably get this sooner than the Relic Knights kickstarter I backed almost two years ago. I hope they do well with this game because it looks like it will be fun. Can’t wait for my Iron Clad to arrive!
That’s very very so much brilliant.
Nice to see BoW starting to mention this game as well. Hope it actually gets some game coverage as well once it has been released.
Being a long time fan of War of the Worlds, I must say this KS pushed all my buttons and I too, have pledged far too much. Good thing the figures are looking to be both high quality and are coming along nicely.
Delays in Kickstarter projects are inevitable. I would much rather have some months’ delay than shoddy shovelwarelike product.
This will be my first outing into 15mm scale. Does anyone have any opinions on differences between the scales? Apart from the minis being half the size of the 28/30mm I am used to?
Also there is another land iron clad in the works as well! Cannot wait for some images of the Thunderchild II to arrive! And the Overseer tripod that rivals these in size!
In the fluff this is the Second martian invasion, centered in the US heartland. The first one being centered in the British Isles some years before (very much like the novel the war of the worlds) leaving abandoned martian tech in the hands of the british boffins…
Things will definately not be all quiet on the martian front when the British Expeditionary Force arrive with their retroengineered tech!
Its been a while to wait for this one, but the end product looks fantastic, I went in quite heavy on this one and will be waiting for the postman to pull up in his big van!
