    Hi all,

    I recently got some white dragon minis modern British and am looking for guides on painting Multicam. I’ve found the spectre minis guide and painted some that way but I’m not happy as they came out way too green.

    ive seen a few people have done some excellent work on the WAYPN and was wondering whether they would be able to point me to some guides or some top tips (do you use brushes or tooth picks etc)

    @collins

    I am hoping to get some tutorials filmed for exactly this kind of thing and am in negotiations with OTT and SitRep.

    i agree, MTP is not as green and it took me a bit to figure out how to do it fast and fairly effective.

    if you like i can give you a list of paints:

    @collins you may want to check the 2nd edition of the ‘colours of war’ book from Battlefront, because it may cover the modern camouflage patterns (or at least those that fit the Team Yankee setting).

    @suetoniuspaullinus i would very much appreciate a paint list and please do make a guide, I feel it would be of great help to others

    @limburger I’ll give it a look, thanks

    it would definitely be a great help to me, I am currently destroying modern miniatures with terrible camo… haha

    Ya I stalled on my moderns project due to having trouble with camo.

    I predominantly use GW paints as I prefer pots to bottles.

    base with Baneblade Brown, larger blobs with Nurgling Green and Gorthor Brown, evenly spread. Pattern of worm like shapes with Dryad Bark,  Waagh Green and The Flayed One Flesh. Very light/ watered down wash with Athonian Camoshade. Pin wash around pockets and in deep recesses with Nuln Oil.

    Once you’ve got the hang of it it’s a super fast affair. About 45mins per figure if at all.

    @warzan

    I think this could potentially be a really good way to demystify camo painting. We really ought to make it happen ?

    yep … we really need more info on camo patterns.

    I think the core techniques would be useful for things like the Harlequins as it could work as a painted version of their holo shields (or whatever they’re calling it these days).

    @suetoniuspaullinus @warzan yes let’s make it happen! Andy and I have talked and would really like to do some tutorial videos. IMG_20190811_153745581

    @suetoniuspaullinus i have now had a bash at starting this camo pattern. Would you mind providing feedback? Done a batch of 5 to this point (prewash) and it has b even reasonably quick for me, just the length of the weekender (so I’ve obviously been distracted)

    @collins

    Not a bad start buddy!

    The overall appearance looks a tad too dark for my taste. Mind you might want to add washes and they would turn it even darker and then it all starts to look like Woodland BDU.

    But maybe that’s the picture only.

    The beige spots seem a little big tho  and I would reduce them in size using a bit of green.

    Looking forward to seeing more and keep up the work!

    Like him ?

    I’d try to lighten the brown a bit but that looks largely good to me otherwise ?
