At 3:27am I received an email from podio.com sent to my beast of war email address as follows (actual domain and email address obfuscated and links removed).

Your Podio organisation: #####.com associated with your Podio account beastsofwar@#####.com has been inactive for 90 days now. Unless you or other users from this organisation take action to re-activate or export any of your data from Podio, your organisation will be deleted in the next 30 days

To activate your account, simply login by with in the next 30 days.

To export data and then delete your account, please follow instructions here .

The embedded links did take you to podio.com, a genuine service owned by Citrix, but I’ve never used it directly and certainly wouldn’t have used my BoW account email to do so. Is this a service you have used in the past as part of your service architecture at BoW?

I think that’s part of the prize claim centre IIRC. I seem to remember having used that for claiming my prize in the past

What… you mean I haven’t won anything for over 90 days !?!?! Now that IS a more urgent problem 😉

Thanks for the suggestion, it would make sense. Would be nice to get confirmation.

Just checked my emails and yes, podio is part of the prize claim system.

Thanks – that would seem to confirm it. This is precisely why I have a different email address for everything, makes tracking down unexpected emails nfrom strange companies a lot easier.
