About the Project

I have finally decided to make a project with some of the numerous miniatures that need painting. So thought I would start with Moonstone. I am at best an average painter. But thought that this may encourage me to try and up my game with some internet based encouragement/judgement. I have won a couple of buttons which is nice. Not necessarily merited but nice.

Gradock is complete.  I am quite happy with this one – again there is room for improvement but a good solid result.

Further progress on the gnomes.

The leather has a base of Steel legion drab and the metal starts with Balthazar gold

At least finished for me.

The painting is fine but with most of my recent painting something seems missing, and I am not sure what.  If anyone sees this and can point out what, it would be appreciated.

Moving on, I have decided to start some gnomes.

i have decided to do a standard colour for all of the faction – and choose green.  I then looked at the official paint job, and I can see where I got my ‘idea’ from.

Incase I forget, the green is:

GW Warboss green with a bit of black

Warboss Green

Warboss green with a little Kreig Khaki

Add a little more of the Khaki to be about 50/50

Final highlight of pure Kreig Khaki

The WIP are as follows:

I think there is some progress made on the model.  I have used a lot of yellow to help brighten the skin (maybe too much) but the photo does make it look brighter than it actually is.

I have finally returned to doing some Moonstone, as I have a metric ton of miniatures to build, prime, and paint.

First up is Knoll.

I will add the image later as for some reason it won’t let me at the moment.  The WIP image can be seen in my everything and anything project in the meantime.

The plan is to ignore the base as with all of the others.  Once I feel that a faction is complete, I will then figure out what I want to do so that the faction has uniformity and consistency.

The next things

This project is going on hold for a while.

I have the Gnomes, some of Leshavault and some Shades to complete but I am in no rush to do so.

I have a metric ton of other things to do which I will update in my Everything and Anything project but will come back to this one eventually.

Although there are other models that are  part of the Dominion, below are all the Goblins and Trolls.

The last figure for my dominion force is Ribald the troll.

Tbh this is probably the miniature I was most looking forward to of the remaining Goblin force.

I didn’t note any of the steps for this model except the skin.

I decided to use GW Hobgrot Hide as the main colour.  I mixed it with a little Kantor blue to begin and then worked back up to Hobgrot which was mixed with Ogryn camo.

As I like the mini, there are a few extra photos
