After finally getting my stuff from CGL it took me a while to decide on a colour scheme. After all, it’s just grey plastic.

Regardless of what colours will go one, priming is needed.

House Ricol

So I choose House Ricol, an influential noble house from the Draconis Combine. Why? Drop dead easy colour scheme and I had chosen the Ricol coin as a backer reward. Maybe I had that colour scheme in mind all along? I don’t know, I can’t remember. It’s so long ago.

Painting itself was very straight forward:

  • Blood Red on the top
  • Grim Black on the lower half
  • Matt White on the cockpits
  • Orc Skin on the cockpits
  • fixing errors, missed spots
  • Matt Black on the bases (not shown)

And that’s how it looks

And now: poster shots!

All painting was done so I went outside and gave them a varnish with Satin Varnish for protection and then some Matt Varnish to tone it down.

Last steps: Gloss Varnish for the cockpits and some white “here is the front” paint for the Savannah Masters. Because I didn’t pay attention when glueing them into place. DOH.

Enjoy the final result!

Oh, and I made a litte turntable video!
