I’m trying to update a new project log, and I managed to get the first post done, but I had the following message come up:

“Error establishing a Redis connection

WordPress is unable to establish a connection to Redis. This means that the connection information in your wp-config.php file are incorrect, or that the Redis server is not reachable.”

But the first time it occurred, the post updated so I thought it was a singular, one time thing, but trying with a new post and it keeps giving me the message. I have no idea if it’s something on my end or not, so any help would be appreciated from people who know about this sort of thing.

I had this error tonight – first time I’ve seen it. I wonder if it is the new version of the Cloudflare connection error we used to get? The full error message read:

read error on connection to 10.0.0.4:6379

WordPress is unable to establish a connection to Redis. This means that the connection information in your wp-config.php file are incorrect, or that the Redis server is not reachable.

Is the correct Redis host and port set?
Is the Redis server running?
If you need help, please read the installation instructions.

To disable Redis, delete the object-cache.php file in the /wp-content/ directory.

I tried to open OTT on a new tab in the same browser and got a Cloudflare connection error. Tried again and the homepage opened okay and I got the update through by refreshing the original error page.

The solution @Nightbringer24 is to leave the Redis error message on screen, then open your project in another tab on the same browser and check to see if your project update has loaded. If it has, happy days, you can close the page with the error on it. If it hasn’t, go back to the screen showing the error and hit the browser’s reload/refresh page button. A message will appear asking if you want to Resend the data, click Yes/Resend. Generally your update will now go through. If you get the Redis error a second time just repeat these stages.

@zoidpinhead, thank you very much for the comment and the work around to fixing it. I’ll definitely give it a shot and get back to you on here to see how I get on with it.
